What does that story about the prodigal son mean to you?

I get this feeling because I was born again and then did some really stupid/sinful things, you might think I was falsely converted. Really not. Good sense and intelligence aren't a first-thing-God-gives thing.

I have eaten the pigs' food. God didn't disown me for my stupidity. His food is better, so I came back.

That's how I see it. How do you see it?

I believe there are ALOT of people who truly think they are "born again" from above but they are not. A lot of the so called "Orthodox" Christians believe water baptism, no matter the age, refers to one being "born again". This is a great deception.

Salvation thru 'sacraments' yes is another gospel'... you may ask why Does God allow this to continue? well all those different Cut up jesus's will in the End serve a purpose, the jello molding of the Harlot of Revelation 17, this global corporate apostate entity, that Sacrifices Truth, ------> for unity, a false love, a false peace, the 'lie', that man can create heaven on earth, become as little gods, the 'fruit ' from the Garden of Eden, presented by the Serpent.... these will take and run with this, albeit this 'allowed by God Himself ' to fulfill the Word of God! the Harlot of Revelation is COMING WITH POWER and decisivenes... as its fueled by the Dragon, as they Present another gospel and a man made kingdom of heaven to those 'caught' in the Trap of Daniels 70th Week, the Hour of Trial , to try them that dwell on the Earth, those whose Names are not written in the Lambs Book of Life.. will follow this to perdition, He will 'call out' and FIND and save those whose Names have Already been Written there since time and dirt were Created! His Will be Done in Heaven as On the Earth! a HARVEST! OF GREAT QUANTITY. when the Eternal LORD .. starts His Eternal combine!

Is this surprising? The enemy is clever he can make the truth seem like a lie and a lie the truth. something as simple as a different interpretation of scripture or a different view of the same belief can create an entire new religion it really is that easy for him to deceive many. without the holy spirit in us we too will be tricked fooled lied too and deceived and many say they have him in them and yet you have all these many different denominations with different and even some strange beliefs

To be Honest, When He found and saved me in 1994, I came back home and began to testify of His Saving Grace and Mercy, my family background is salvation thru sacraments as an infant, followed by a 'catechism' as a young adult, a 'molding' persay into that sect or denomination, when I came back home and Testified, they told me I was really saved when I was an infant, and committment to the LORD when I was run thru a religious series of meetings as a young boy, confirmation, I said NO, He saved me In February , the 3rd to be Exact, NO they got in my face and pointed the finger, you were saved when you were an infant, NO, I told them.. from that POINT there has been a schism or divison in my family. because of His Salvation... He Brings a Sword, He truly Does, Not Peace but a Sword, respect and Love for the Parents is still there, but MY LOVE for My Redeemer is Greater than that, I very rarely have contact with them or other family members, which is fine, I will not muck up or dirty up His Genuine Salvation for my life by adhering to their denominational doctrines and traditions, this happened back in 1994... He truly does come to bring a Sword or division , not peace, how beit they preach peace out of false doctrine and love out of false doctrine , Sacrificing Truth for that .. which is Error, salvation thru sacraments is error..

and my family's Background is in Pharmaceuticals... after 1994, they took it upon themselves to 'fix' my Jesus problem with behavior meds.. yep.... these were professing 'christians'. NOPE. they are 'tares'... God Brought me out of that, Separated me from that, and Healed me thru His Word, not pharmaceutical behavior meds.. lol.. LOTS of Good medicine out there folks, but that stuff is DIABOLICAL and destructive! so NOW you know the Wisdom Given to me about the coming harlot and her use of 'behavior meds' to control the masses. Sorcery, witchcraft, 'sorcerers will be outside the Walls of the New Jersusalem, they will not inherit eternal life, but Gehenna Fire will be their state..' if God does not Pull them out of their error.. THESE the ones who use behavior control meds to control 'chistians behavior'.. instead of letting the Blood of Christ thru the Spirit, renew their mind and conscience! Indeed!

The prodigal NEVER stopped being the son.

He may have "died" in a sense to his fathers blessings, and because of it, brought to his knees. But he still carried his fathers blood.

amen, it was not Gods beating them to submission which turned him back.

it was his realization that without his fathers help. he was hopeless in a lonely world.

you Notice the other BROTHER, upset because of the Grace and Mercy of God, he was mad he even had a convo with his father, but his father, set him Straight with the Truth, so they could both rejoice, for that which is Lost has been found!

Jesus's Words, Im not sent but to the Lost Sheep of the House of Israel, this would be Spiritual Israel, those who have Truly been regnenerated from Heaven, even those who walked away but God went and Got them, and those who have no clue they were Elect , chosen of God, much like Saul of Tarusus,, the Religious man.. lol, the Pharisee, indeed..... God will GATHER UNTO HIMSELF a People He has chosen unto Himself, both Jews and Gentiles.. Indeed... and by the seasons it looks like He is getting ready to Gather those who are looking for Him unto Himself.. He is Getting prepared to display His Righteousness, His Own, His elect, but first He has to Reward them, then have them Sit down and He will serve them at a very Large Banquet! are your tickets Punched for that Banquet? mmmmmmmm

An often missed point of the story is the "prodigal" Father, who lavished His forgiveness,mercy and blessing on the younger son...this is what angered the older brother...that dad was so generous.

PRODIGAL: having or giving something on a lavish scale.
"the dessert was crunchy with brown sugar and prodigal with whipped cream"
synonyms:generous, lavish, liberal, unstinting, unsparing;

Yes but the FATHER was never prodigal... nor Has he ever been. careful.... it was the son/daughter who is the prodigal... from a Spiritual Standpoint.. to say the Father was Prodigal also is to call God a 'sinner'. and I dont think you want to do that nor was this your intent.. Jesus's Parables had Spiritual Meaning, He hid these from the wise, the learned, those who were prideful in their own eyes.. He revealed those to who were His, quietly and when they were by themselves... 'for unto you it is GIVEN(GRANTED) TO KNOW the MYSTERIES OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, BUT to these who are without, not, so that the Prophesy of Isaiah as Fulfilled.. indeed!

Yep God displays His Colossal Grace and beyond measure Grace to His Own... often the TARES-WEEDS. when they see this.. they get very very very Jealous.. and envious.. I've experienced this in my own life. oh indeed.. the Riches of His Grace and Mercy, those who work for their salvation, often are vehemently enraged when they see and experience the Colossal Grace of God poured out onto His Elect.. oh indeed.. the children of he bondwoman, persecuting the Children of Promise! Indeed

The two are not mutually exclusive. The parable of the tares certainly indicates that there will be people in the church who are not of the Church. Your anecdote is a proof of the principle that God doesn't give up on us when we do something out of character with our Salvation.

A believer (who was once saved) can backslide into sin (and be in an unsaved state) to then being renewed back to the faith again (to a saved state again). Not only does the Prodigal Son teach this, but James 5:19-21 teaches this, as well.

In the Parable of the Prodigal Son, the father said that his son was dead and was alive again two times. This is obviously speaking in spiritual terms. For when did Jesus not speak in spiritual terms when he was preaching?
