I will catch flack for this forum for sure but so be it.

I am sure some might be wondering why I have not been posting much. Well here is the main reason. I am tired of the same old arguments "popping" up once a month. I will NOT tell my doctrinal point of view just so someone can argue against it. If you want to know where i stand then go back and read some of my posts.

If i wasn't a Christian i would think Christianity was a joke reading many forums here. If my life wasn't solely centered on Jesus Christ I would not be a Christian. If my life or belief was centered on baptism or good works i would not be a Christian. But, what are some of the largest forums on here?...Salvation based on good works vs. faith or baptism as means of salvation, Sola Scriptura, TULIP ect. ect. People, our salvation rests solely on the person and Works of Christ. But, not a single nonChristian or "new" Christian would be able to tell that from these forums. How many of you know that God actually died in human form as the second person of the trinity so that we could have eternal life? Or would you rather argue over something which our salvation is not dependent upon?

Satan has this divide and conquer perfect. Get them arguing over Doctrine so they don't preach the Gospel. We are doing satan's work for him as we would rather show our "knowledge" than preach the Gospel. I sure don't know stuff because i know stuff but I know God because i take the time to know God. Do you wanna "know" God or do you wanna Know God. It is a relationship not a "knowledge" thing.

Do we actually remember what the Gospel of Christ really is? My faith is solid on the Gospel of Christ. How solid is your faith?

I don't know if this OP is a joke, because it is very serious!

I confess I have stopped posting on a lot of threads, because they do not glorify God. They do not teach or encourage people to grow closer to Christ.

But instead of continuing to whine, I will just say that I am glad for the many friends and the fellowship I have found here. My prayer is that this forum could discuss the Bible, not doctrine.

My hope is that this forum would be a testament to the living Saviour, whom we serve. My dream is that each day, we would grow together and be conformed to the image of Christ.

"For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers." Romans 8:29

"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Cor. 3:18

for sure. We as a church have gotten so far away from God that we argue something we dont even understand. Why did God create us? I dont know but lets argue over it. Only one name can and will solve every problem and that name is JESUS!!!

I get what you are saying - and many of us have had the same thoughts. It does seem to loop around and loop around some more, but we sort of get used to it. And take a few days off here and there. And then jump in when it feels safe to do so.

Don't give up - you post some very refreshing things. Ignore the "knowledge things", and enjoy the good.
There are some pearls of wisdom here and there - and very very good people who have a solid faith. Lots of us don't argue doctrine. We just pray for truth to be seen where lies are believed.

In the name of Jesus.

Not sure if I follow you guys as the bible is DOCTRINE from front to back...Every word of God is INSPIRED and TEACHES which is what doctrine is so......why the division between the BIBLE and DOCTRINE.........through and through the bible is full of doctrine.......................!

My best friend taught me to think of my faith in Christ as a child would. Because of this, it has increased how I have been able to trust God with my future as I am currently waiting for him to physically point it out to me. As I mentioned we need to remember to have faith as a child because I do know that children believe almost anything that is said to them. So in a way they are gullible. I realize many of us see being gullible as a negative, but I do think in Christ it is a positive thing. "Faith is believing something without actually seeing it" so none of us have seen heaven or have to see Christ die on the cross only to be resurrected again, but we have faith in knowing it is true based on the Word of God. I fully believe that Christ is coming back in all his glory to take his children home. I remember being used by God when I was really little as I quoted scripture that I hadn't read because I didn't even know how to read yet and God gave me the words to say and those words imparted healing to my grandma and since then that scripture became my favorite verse in the bible because it was a memory that will not go forgotten. I do think people in general have studied the bible so much that they lose the simplicity of who God really is. That is where we need to think of our faith as a child would and just absorb it to our very core.
Think of Matthew 17:20
[SUP]20 [/SUP]So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief;for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
OR:
Luke 17:6

[SUP]6 [/SUP]So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

I will forever be thankful to my best friend for showing me the simplicity of loving Jesus as a child would:)

I think many people call something a joke when it falls far short of the speaker's expectations.

I think Elf is likely saying that when we use a forum like this to entertain ourselves rather than glorify God; we may not be doing any thing explicitly wrong; but the wasted potential becomes a joke (falls short of expectations).

Simply ignoring this thread wasn't good enough for you, you had to get your snarky little two cents in that has nothing to do with building up the Body of Christ. The essence of this thread is that Christians are divisive regarding trivial matters and that's a (sad) joke. So is posting nonsense that adds nothing to the conversation.

As always, brother Elf, you're right on target so keep fighting the good fight; your efforts are bearing good fruit!

I think we as the Body of Christ really need to start thinking. We will spend hours arguing over a point we might not ever win but yet how much time do we actually spend studying Gods Word? We will "attack" another denomination over a doctrine but yet we will ignore the points which we agree on. Do we actually believe in the Gospel of Christ? well we sure should so instead of arguing we should spend our time preaching the Gospel and "winning" people to Christ. Non Christians will see us arguing and think "Whats the point?" I would much rather us study and talk about where our doctrines are the same than argue over a "slight" difference. We cannot preach the Gospel together if we argue over "differences". Lets see here...what are some points we agree on? The love of God, Omniscience, Omnipresence, Omnipotence, Creation, Sovereignty, Jesus Deity, ect.ect. Now lets see what we argue about.....Baptism, works vs. faith, the TULIP ect ect. Huh? Ok now lets see what is the most important thing....Jesus!!!! How about we preach Jesus? What do yinz think? Or would you rather argue with me about the Total depravity of man?
