Just a short question for those here, God ever directed you thru His Word to 1.Wait and Stand Still????

Waiting for His Consolation to come forward?
--------------------------------------------------------------
Ye shall not need to fight in this Battle: Set yourselves, stand ye still, and See the Salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: Fear not, nor be Dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

For as the Sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also Aboundeth by Christ.

And our Hope of you is Stedfast, knowing, that as ye are Partakers of the Sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

have a GREAT SUNDAY!

Yup.
Jesus directed us all through example.
The first thing Jesus did after public baptism was go out to the woods and fast.
The first thing Jesus TOLD His followers to do aftrr his departure was wait. They did so in one place and in one accord.

You know...
Perhaps the quickest way to break chains of bondage off people serious about the lord...is to actually separate physically from every weight...including food...and wait on God. Very good that His disciples do this.

If you cant find a group to wait with...theres always the woods...but then you would have to actually trust God and most likely quit your job...unless you have enough money to have a backup plan.
I advise not allowing a backup plan by not providing the ability to trust in anyone but God...and making no provision to the flesh to fulfill its lust.

Once again I bring up Illumination, have to consider the Source, to fast, do all those things.. if they are done for to be seen of men , then you would have your reward,

If one is Led to do those things of the Spirit then yes.. He will lead you..

but, there is A prerequisite to the True Consolation of God, that is Suffering For His Name, for the Cause of Righteousness, that is Christ Crucified and His Message of the Cross,

many suffer today, even if they proclaim the LORD, but they suffer for being a busybody in someobody elses matters, or maybe they got caught stealing, or even trying to murder somebody.. that Suffering will not bring the True Consolation of God.

But and if ye Suffer for Righteousness' sake, Happy are ye: and be not Afraid of their Terror, neither be Troubled;

Genuine Suffering for His Name, will bring about a Genuine Consolation, the DEEPER THE SUFFERING, the Greater the Consolation. that is why Paul was ABLE to endure afflictions, infirmities, etc.. He knew this Suffering was Ordained by God Himself, and the deeper the suffering the Greater the consolation.. Indeed.... God looks on the Heart,

Blessed are the Pure in heart, for they shall see God..... Indeed!

All the time. Waiting on the Lord is a concept I've found important, think upon it as learning patience and being steadfast, day to day, endeavoring to keep our minds stayed upon Him, upon things eternal. Also, knowing His promises are true, that the day will come when all believers will be made incorruptible, see Him as He is, this as sure as the sun rises in the east. Worth waiting for!

Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Psalms 62:1-6 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

Psalms 37:7-9 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Fasting only helps if you are weight-ing on the Lord.

Galatians 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Wait for = απεκδεχομαι. impf. απεξεδεχομην; expect, (eagerly) await, look for (RO 8. 23); absolutely wait patiently (RO 8. 25) (ANLEX)

That is really a great verse, reflecting the righteousness of Christ by faith, that we are works of the Spirit, eager but patiently waiting to put on the incorruptible. That there's a juicy one!

Even the fast of Moses and Jesus are known to sooo many...it does not mean they did it to be seen of men.

Amen to that...and yes he has and I will add......the times I have tried to deal with something my way it has failed and or come to naught.....When I have not worried and have given it over to God while saying I cannot deal with this you have to.....it has worked out every time....!

They were Led of the Spirit which nulllifies the accusation of them doing it to be seen of men. I see people proclaiming a fast publically. As if to let others know they were very spiritual. The Master taught His own to do it privately. Don't announce it. The Father which sees you in secret shall reward you openly .

How does this tie into the parable of the Sower? That which is sown on different kinds of ground. Knowing the Seed is the Word of God and not $$$ like you see today which is false teaching .
