Stuffed pig without life ? Wow where was that implied?

I truly do not understand your position, so God is only alive in scripture? He doesn't abide with us? He hasn't made himself known to you?
What is the problem? Is it because I am catholic and can not possibly have a relationship with God?

God is alive and his Spirit abides with me, His truth is the revelation of Sacred Scripture. I was converted while studying the scripture, the Holy Spirit entered my heart and became one with my soul. Becauese of this experience I have an assurance of things hope for, a knowledge of things unseen (faith). Hebrews

Is God real to you or just letters in a book?
I don't know why you took it personally.
Stuffed- meaning full of reading and reading.
Pig- the selfish motive.
Without Life- not born again.

The expression was to illustrate the strawman being erected. I had no one in particular in mind.

So basically we are discussing which is more important the actual relationship with God or studying his word correct? Well let me just say you cannot have one without the other. you can study the bible all you want but without an actual relationship with God you will remain blind however if you do have such a relationship with him yet never read the bible then do you really want to know him that badly?

Everyone has different ways of seeking God of spending time with him of learning more of who he is. I have several ways I will go on walks and talk with him I will sometimes lay in bed and simply be with him I even find him and and grow closer to him simply by being on cc and yes the word too. Studying the bible is simply a way of seeking him growing closer to him knowing more of him it isn't like studying normal books

But there is Blain, people who study the Word, yet do not know the Living Word.. very evident. There is a REWARD for those who Diligently Seek Him, the source of the 'seeking' and the Illumination is the Key...... If one solely believed that everybody who posts on here was Genuinely Born again.. then you have to go understand the Parable of the Sower and read that and understand that there are 2 sowers on this planet. Christ Taught about that.. Paul expounded on It when he revealed that 'even satan ministers, teachers, evangelists, disciples, come MASQUERADING as an agent of 'light' or Illumination, and they even preach Righteousness, but its a man made Righteousness, which is very evident to see... One can be studying and reading the Bible , yet not in a relationship with the Eternal, the only other option would be if the LORD is drawing the sinner in, then he/she WANTS to read the Word, not out of their own desire or will, but Because God is drawing and Calling them into Himself.. thats the only Way.. the Narrow Way..

God is all I have to depend on, He is my Source and Strength. I go to Him for help and wisdom and hear from Him. I do not know how I would handle anything in my life without Him.

yes i mentioned this in my recent post. Like I said without an actual relationship with God you can study the bible but remain blind to it's teachings and secrets

You know you can dress up a pig, put nice clothes on it, put lipstick on it, adorn it with fancy jewelry, BUT ITS STILL A PIG.. same with those who have a head knowledge of the Scripture, Intellectual knowledge of the Word, even teach and preach it.. with OUT the Paraclete, the Spirit of Truth Guiding , then its just Words without LIFE.. thus a dressed up pig , but its still a pig.. in that sense.. indeed!

your talking about 70% of teacher and preachers then? I honestly don't understand why some ppl go into the teaching or preacher ministry when they aren't fit for it because they don't actually have that relationship with God.Granted I have seen a few who truly are filled with God but a lot of times when I go to a church as i am looking for the right one their seems to be something hallow in their words.

btw love the dressing up a pig referenceXD

This appeared on my right hand last winter, about the same time of His Visitation, was undergoing some strong spiritual warfare, as it dealt with 'witchcraft-sorcery'. It was His way of telling me I was crucified with Him. and I know that today! when He converted me in 1994, that is as fresh today as it was back then! He IS ALIVE TODAY.. after being dead 3 days.. I know.. I testify of His Saving Grace and mercy.. nothing to do with Me.. its all about Him! to God be the Glory!

We are to have both.
We need both RELATIONSHIP with Christ, & STUDY of scripture.

What does it look like if someone only has one?

1. STUDY ONLY, NO RELATIONSHIP TO CHRIST = LOST SINNER, HEADED FOR HELL

2. RELATIONSHIP BUT NO STUDY = SAVED, BUT NO GROWTH OR DISCERNMENT, LIKELY HEADED INTO HERESIES

We need both.

We need an initial encounter with Christ,
and we also need a daily walk with Him...
a walk which is IN the illumination and wisdom of scripture.

I apologize, I misunderstood and took it personal. Must be catholic guilt. I am sorry.

if not personal, it is vitally important. i remember vaguely a couple weeks ago you posted something hostile to yahweh (GOD the CREATOR) and not in line with the life of a believer in JESUS.

hopefully you are getting to know JESUS .... and soon to leave the rcc. otherwise your guilt will increase daily until judgment.

remember yahweh, yahshua, SCRIPTURE(GOD'S WORD), all ekklesia everywhere all the time, and the owner and all the admins of this site
recognize and declare that the rcc catholicism is heresy (opposed completely to GOD JESUS and HIS WORD).

The difference is reading without the Holy Spirit and reading with Him.
So all true Christians being born again have that 'encounter '.

I had this experience myself before I was saved. I read the Bible daily, and it meant nothing to me. I had questions marks and circles all over the pages because I did not understand what it was saying.

Then, God saved me! The next day, the Bible made sense. It was because I had met the author of the book!

Posted something hostile to YHWH ... I do not recall that, I did receive an infraction for saying something which was considered unkind to another person (it could of been you), and have asked for forgiveness from my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If You were the one I offended I am truly sorry.
I have been a bond servant of Jesus Christ for many years, and have failed my Lord more than I would like published. I do not need to leave His Church to find his church, Jesus has promised to never leave me or forsake me and I cling to that promise.

Christ be with you always.

Something you hear so much of the King James Bible is, "I can't understand it." Well, I couldn't either, until I got saved. Then, it moved on to merely a few words to get straight, the verbiage not at all far divorced from modern English, even reads rather excellently. I can read a Wycliffe or Geneva Bible, also, easy enough, keeping a few letters in mind. Fact is,

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Short of being born of the Spirit, a Good News Bible wouldn't do much good.
