I think it is an awesome gift from the father (forgiveness) because when we fall he has open arms of forgiveness for us, isn't that the most wonderful gift that we can see each day healed redeamed and forgiven through the blood of jesus christ, whoo that's awesome, have a great day my brothers and sisters in christ covered in his most amazing love !!!!!

It's a two-edged sword, though. It seems that the Bible clues us in to the fact that our destinies after death are going to be determined by how much WE also forgave others who may have walked all over us, or treated us badly. Seems that to get it, you also have to give it.

To fully forgive is to Love another before during and after one means us harm, brother or sister relative or not friend or foe

I always thought it to mean that if you truly have it you will by your new nature freely give it.

This is works-believism. Our destinies after death are determined by the grace of God.

And yes, we do need to forgive as God forgave us. But not in order to determine our eternal destinies. Our joy at forgiving others comes out of the sure knowledge of how much God has forgiven us.

Well, as I often do, may I bring up Child Molesters, ISIS, and 911 Terrorists, and maybe the Amish School House murderer? Tell me about some of your joy at forgiving those guys.

Works better on paper than in real life. Often we come real close to substituting the word "forgiveness" with something like " tolerance" or "resolve."

I do realize many of you may be far more spiritual than I am, but I still wrestle with coming anywhere near to what Jesus was talking about.
