How often do you read the Bible? How many minutes per day? What is your routine for Bible reading/devotions?

I like to read my Bible every day and it can be anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour a day. Sometimes more on days off.
I like to read my Bible for 30 minutes when I wake up and for 30 minutes before I go to bed.

I like to read a little everyday until a specific word strikes my spirit - then spend the rest of the day meditating on it off and on. If I can apply it, I try to do just that. So it becomes more than just reading it.

Meditating on it takes longer because I like to like to either draw it or listen to more insights the Holy Spirit gives me on that particular word.

I've started a biblestudy in the beginning of this year, so I read everyday two to four chapters. I haven't an exact time when I read it, but it's mostly in the evening when I'm done with all the homework.
It's the first time I'm reading the bible, thats why I thought it makes more sense if I read it a bit faster to get an overview.

My soul followeth hard after Thee: thy Right Hand upholdeth me. Psalm 63

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of the day the Word is near either on my laptop or Smart Phone.. I cling to Him.. have to at times.. especially when some are desirous of your physical departure (prematurely) from this earth.. indeed.. AS David fled from Saul, so my soul flees at times... but It clings to Him... His Spirit refresheth me , His Right Hand continues to confirm His Promise. even after many years... indeed!

Willie - It's only a matter of getting heaven into you a little before you get there.

Someone told me once that you should read at least 10 chapters a day, I was like :O I often times get stuck on the first verse! I think its quality, not quantity.

Wow. That's a bit much and I love to read. I agree with quality over quantity. But reading a chapter at a time is a good idea. It's much easier to find the truth when you read a verse/passage in its context.

What do you mean 6 times? Do you mean you've read all of it a total of 6 times? If so, that's excellent.

I have tried to read it all through, but I just haven't. Seems that I end up reading other parts of it, and eventually I am no longer on my schedule to read it all the way through.

I love the fact that as we read and study, our Bible becomes a most precious companion -
we come to cherish it like no other earthly gift or object -
eating with it, sleeping with it, carrying it with us where ever we go becomes
a normal thing and we don't give a care what any one else may think about it.

Dear Brother, be encouraged never to put the Bible away. I promise you even if you read it 1000 times you will always learn something new and gain much stronger insight and wisdom. More importantly, spending quality time with God by reading His Word is invaluable.

My Bible reading fluctuates. I sometimes read my Bible every few days, but most of the time I read it every day. I generally read a few chapters and then think and pray about what I've read. I'm particularly fond of the early chapters of Genesis, so I read passages and verses and chapters over and over again and study them regularly, alongside my usual Bible readings. Currently I'm on 2nd Samuel. It's rather gory. So the short answer is: I'm reading my Bible more regularly than I used to, but I'd like to read it a little more often and I'd love to develop my relationship with Jesus further.

Until my sister came to live with me my coffee and Bible time was so special, many times I would weep because of the word. On work days I would read about three chapters every morning, I absolutely depended on it to help me a work which gave me strength through faith. I had a lot to endure in the Body and Paint shop.

When my sister came she destroyed my peace.

I'm sorry to see this. Is there any way to bring her into your reading time and do it together?

It does help to get older and have more time in your day.

I never read it while I was raising kids unless it was on "a whim", but being raised in church and Sunday school caused me to have a lot of it in my heart. I never read it when I was working full time - it was all I could do when I got home to just put the house, kids, clothes, food, chaos and marriage in order before I crashed into bed.

I think it was during those years that the Holy Spirit did a lot of whispering to me - "change this, change that, Jesus loves you even now" - and I always found my footing even when it greatly slipped.

I think of the early Christians who didn't have their own personal bibles. Yet they were filled with the Holy Spirit. And I'm sure He did a lot of whispering to them along with reading all those letters that Paul wrote.
