Jesus clearly stated that there is NONE GOOD but God.....God inspired the following thoughts and truths....

1. None Good...no not one<--Romans
2. All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags and our iniquities like the wind have taken us away<--Isaiah
3. If we say we have no SIN, we are deceived and the truth is not in us<--1st John
4. There is not a just man upon the earth that does good and sins not<--Ecclesiastes

Many godly men of the bible committed horrific sins and or sinned after being saved as the bible records...

1. David a man after God's own heart and mind committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband Uriah Killed
2. Peter lied three times when he denied the Lord and used foul language in the process, he also played the hypocrite when it came to socializing with the gentiles and then disassociating when the Jews came around.
3. Abraham was deceptive about his half sister wife to save his own skin
4. Daniel prayed and confessed his sins and associated himself with the sins of his people even though one sin is not recorded about him.
5. Paul towards the end of his life writes that he is the number one chief sinner among men.
6. Noah got rip roaring falling down blind drunk after the flood.
7. Thomas, after walking with the Lord for over three years and having the abilities to work miracles doubted the resurrection.
8. Solomon built temples and groves to idols because of the affiliation with his wives and concubines.
9. Peter was also called Satan once by Jesus for denying that Jesus had to die for the redemption of humanity.

Etc. At the end of the day the bible is clear.....the Pharisees bragged about their own righteousness, claimed how sinless they were and consistently pointed the finger at those around them while denying their own sin. Just because someone is saved does not mean that they will not in a moment of weakness sin....this does not mean that we cannot overcome particular sins and or cease from continual sin. You know....the man who will not even lift his eyes to heaven while beating on his chest and seeking forgiveness of sins is the one who walks away justified before God....not the one who brags and boasts of his righteousness, of being sinless and or makes claims to being righteous at the detriment of others.......

The statements below are applied unto particular sins of the flesh and not to the over all sinfulness of the flesh....
1. Go and sin no more
2. Those who have suffered in the flesh have ceased from sin

For there is NOT a just man upon the earth that does GOOD and SINS NOT<------when this was written there were saved men on the earth and this is as applicable unto them as much as it is applicable unto us!

The spirit that is born of God does NOT sin, is eternally saved, justified and sanctified in Christ positionally.
The flesh that the spirit is housed in is fallen, sinful and dead because of sin

Jesus said it best and proves the conflict that takes place within a true believer.......The Spirit is indeed willing, but the FLESH IS WEAK<----Paul expounds on this, although it is rejected by those who brag and boast of their own righteousness and lack of sin!

"9. Peter was also called Satan once by Jesus for denying that Jesus had to die for the redemption of humanity."

"once" is VERY GOOD!

later, the apostles, disciples and ekklesia(those set apart in christ jesus) --- what did they do, how did they live?

did they go out and do what JESUS said NOT TO DO. or did they live the way JESUS showed them to live and DO what JESUS SAYS TO DO?

yes, absolutely, "before JESUS" they were lost and without hope in the world..... did they stay that way?

yes, absolutely, "before JESUS" they lived under the power of the prince of the power of the air(the devil) and sin...

did they stay that way?

EPHESIANS, COLOSIANS, PHILIPPIANS, 1 JOHN, 2 JOHN, 1 PETER, 2 PETER, HEBREWS , REVELATION....

where it is written they lived IN UNION WITH YAHSHUA(JESUS) .... does that sound like they continued in sin or like they continued to do what JESUS says to do? (much more than mere disciples, but joint heirs in Christ!)

and did they make mistakes..... Peter made a pretty big one, didn't he!? so? did he keep doing that? or did he repent?

and when they made mistakes again, yes even 7 times 70, did they then decide to turn back to the flesh or satan instead of
continuing on as disciples of JESUS ?? (no surprise, a lot of the disciples did turn back and deny the Lord and Savior JESUS....) but did all of them...? or did some repent and keep going as disciples of JESUS instead of in the flesh and of satan ?

Again many will miss the point...your post is a primo example........the above men were SAVED before they committed the sins they committed and NO WHERE did I say they continued to live a lifestyle of sin.......so let me guess...you never sin, always walk 100% perfect before the Lord 24/7 and are one of the most righteous men on the planet? Yeah ...you bet!

The wonder is that even in our acknowledged unworthiness; God loves us and covers our unrighteousness with His own righteousness.

p.s. for those who don't sin any more , there's a special meeting taking place at 3pm cst today, in heaven. the father, jesus, and all who are seated in heavenly places in christ jesus already have their reservations.

sorry, no one who trusts man, or especially the heresy rcc, may come. (unless they repent)

p.p.s. for those who don't sin any more, if you sin, remember Jesus directions on what to do.... it is very clear in HIS WORD.

p.p.p.s. for those who do sin, same directions - in HIS WORD. they are very clear and simple. you can get your reservations from JESUS anytime, if you follow HIS instructions, yahweh willing.

you keep putting yourself under condemnation by putting words and thoughts and motives in to other people ....

shouldn't ought to do that.

Amen to that for sure......he became sin for us and the righteousness of God has been applied unto us by faith having been justified by the perfect faith of Christ!

Well if I misunderstood your post I apologize.......we do not have a written record of how they lived their whole life and not every sin is recorded as some men's sins come before hand and some men's sins follow after......the point is simple...saved people still fail occasionally, sin and need to be picked back up......even the great men of the bible..........!

I will also add......how many times have you judged the people of this site, the world, the churches and in so doing made self righteous remarks while condemning those around you? Maybe take your own advice bro!

for the record, zero times. i take JESUS' advice, not mine own.... and not yours.

yes, you misunderstood my post.

as it is written, saved people still fail (probably way more than occasionally sinning...) (7 times 70, even in one day) .... otherwise, who would have a chance at all, even in grace !

and when they sin, they repent of it, again, and again, and again.... they don't approve of sin or continue in sin willfully rebellious against JESUS or GOD'S WORD.

Cool and like I said...I apologize for jumping the gun.....!
cool back atcha.... in yahshua(jesus).... no worries .... and sheer grace we are able to continue >>

just "it seems" it's happened that a lot of "2 commandment" doctrine types (not life, but doctrine) keep claiming

me or someone else(several elses) "claims to never sin" , yet me and (several elses) within a few posts before and after

that claim, point out clearly that we are not saying we do not ever sin. a little of the problem may well be "english"

grandma rules that don't make a difference in verbs and past and present and future actions and desires(with and without "INTENT" )

so we 'strive' for the GOOD NEWS SAKE, to clarify, hopefully and only in JESUS and not in self-defense and not selfishly and not
as if we are perfect and complete already..... (almost, but not yet! ) :) ('almost' can take quite some time, years or decades or a life time ! )

yes, i know, the '2 commandment' crowd have their own side, and some may even be COOL too! :) in JESUS...

Is it just me, or does some of this miss the point?

Honestly, who cares if we're good or not? The last time I checked, the gospel wasn't about being good.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For our sake he [God] made him [Jesus] to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

In Jesus, God covered us. In Jesus, he continues to cover us.

If we want to play the i-can-handle-it-myself-God-thanks game, he'll let us. And we'll step-and-shuffle until we exhaust ourselves. Then God will say, "Do you need some cover?"

..... dcon, just a

post-it-note
....

when you do give advice, i do or may take it to heart and to prayer to Jesus, as I learned a long long time ago to

listen to others whether I know them or not, young or old, strangers even that might be "sent by God" to tell me

something ,

yes, take everything in prayer , to consider if it might be so.... and hopefully learn if it is, without needing a bop on the head.....(or something more! )

as God corrects us through many we meet in our lives.... subject always and finally to HIS WORD , but often

a word through others is meant for our edukation.... may we never need a donkey to speak out loud!!!! (but if so, praise GOD for HIS MERCY AND HIS GRACE in warning us/ caring for us! )

Ummm...I think once you have been here a while you will get the jest of the post...and since when does posting the word of God in context miss the point....ALL scripture is inspired and PROFITABLE including the words of JESUS......!
