Revelation 21:4 (King James Bible): And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

I was thinking about this today after reading somewhere something someone said about why people would be crying.

They asked, why would people be crying for if they're already in Heaven where there's no more death, sadness etc?

After all, at that moment, we'll already be in Heaven, already raised into our spiritual incorruptible new bodies.

We'll already be enjoying His presence and the presence of all our loved ones.

If all sorrow has been ended, why are we, or some of us, crying?

Firs lets ask Why do we cry?

To this day, it's not truly known why we actually cry and produce tear water from our eyes.

Scientists can come up with all sorts of reasons and factors for it and even try to explain how it happens. We know that it happens when emotions just well up in side so much that they burst through the eyes! After all, the eyes are the window into the soul aren't they? Our bodies are connected to our heart and soul where those emotions come from right?

When we cry, there's 3 possible reasons for it.

We cry when we are sad. Tears of sadness.
We cry when we are happy. Tears of joy.
We've been chopping onions. Tears of a vegetable.

So surely given that we can safely say that we wont be chopping onions! And we have His truly spoken and given word that there will be no more sorry or crying for that matter, why are there people crying that God could wipe the eyes of?

Therefore we must have to conclude that these will be tears of joy! And of course they would be why wouldn't they be!? After all, all evil and death has ended. And we'll be so happy that we have life and being reunited with all our loved ones and seeing all those believers rejoicing and giving thanks and praise.

Or could it be that the mention of God wiping the tears away means the whole act of restoring us to Him through Jesus and that He wont actually physically wipe away your tears?

For me I will be so happy that everything is just back to normal. To the way it should have been only better. Like Bob reclaims, as it was in the beginning, so it shall be in the end. And I believe that He will physically wipe away our tears, but they will be huge tears of love, relief and joy probably. :)

But so yeah, tears of joy definitely right?

God bless you and thank you reading.

Not really. I know why I'll want to cry. I won't see Mom there. I won't see Dad there. I may not see any of my four brothers or my sister there. I may not see any of my aunts or uncles, my cousins, my grandparents, or any other blood relative. That will make me sad. So, I honestly don't know how he'll fix it so there are no tears.

If you look at the verse the crying and God wiping away the tears comes before the mention of no more pain, sorrow, crying, etc.

Maybe at the Judgment seat when we see how much we didn't do for Christ that will leave us broken hearted, all the missed opportunities of talking to someone on earth about Jesus, all the times we chose to do what was evil instead of what was good will make us cry.

But from there ON, there will be no more pain, sorrow or crying.

I don't know, just another way of looking at it.

I'm not sure either way.
