Matthew 5:22 states "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment".
Ephesians 4:22 states "Be ye angry and sin not".

Although anger for just cause is Biblical, I believe that in most cases we fail to do as Paul stated. Anger usually leads to sin.
I often say that IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS AND WHAT HE DOES AND NEVER ABOUT ME AND WHAT I DO.
Yesterday I posted on CC a post that was about ME. I allowed my anger to over rule my judgment. I SINNED.

I am truly sorry that I did that and I am sorry that I offened many/ most who read it.

Last night my Lord rebuked me as Hebrew 12:6 states that "He chasteneth and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth"
I ask and received forgiveness in accordance with I John 1:9.

I make no apology for what I understand the Bible to teach about ETERNAL SECURITY.
But so that I will not commit this sin again, I will avoid the post of those who I disagree with on the subject of ETERNAL SECURITY. I will allow those who are more articulate than me to continue the discussion.

I will pray for you and your understanding.

Like the latest confession post, thanks for your humility and openness. It's great to see our God working in and through His people. It is greatly welcomed. :)

consider me impressed:D it takes much maturity and humbleness to openly own up to your mistakes and it shows your heart for God. It doesn't matter if you have a different view on eternal security as long as you heart is for God which clearly it is. What's funny is our differences and different views separate and divide the body yet it's our differences and our different views that actually make the body strong. But ppl have to come to understand this on their own only then will the attacking and the mocking and the division stop

The whole loss of salvation or not..is quite a serious difference in teaching, but it gets so thrashed out here on this site. There is always someone who comes in and doesn't read the previous threads that bring it up and people repeat themselves again and again.

I am in the same position now.. I firmly stand for eternal security of the believer.. but I won't be posting as much on it now.

not to be argumentative but anger is a warning that a boundary has been crossed or a core value violated. It is a part of us that God made in the garden.....that was good.

When has anger from the human heart ever lead to anything good?

I agree , but one must not let that violation of the boundary make us so angry that we deal with it in a sinful way.
I have always had an anger issue. By the grace of God, it has been under control for most of my Christian life. I try to avoid things that cause be to become angry whenever posible.
It angers me that I allow this to happen for the first time in 10 or 12 years.

Yup...the bible tells us not to sin in our anger....it doesn't say not to become angry.

none if it's unbridled and unchecked. lots if its used to create connection and relationship.

Amen to the post and I agree......anger causes many to say or do things that are contrary....I have been mouthy sometimes as well and I openly admit it....I have openly apologized for it a few times as well.....a lot of times on all sides of the coin anger is perceived when people are just being emphatic.....the thing that makes me angry is when a few people attribute things that are not implied and or being taught for the sake of making their argument and or bolstering their argument........We cannot forget that sometimes even the most righteous men of the bible got angry and expressed that anger such as Jesus, Paul, Moses and others.......anyway......in some way, shape or form most have at one time or another allowed anger to override what is correct and ended up saying something that is mouthy and or hurtful......May God help us ALL to be more sensitive to our speech!

Anger is one of the passions. The passions have their place, but when they are not kept in check by discipline, morality, or social custom, they lead to sin.

That does not make the passions bad in and of themselves.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. (James 1:19-20)

you're right, honey. :)

and Dayle? thank you.
with love and respect,
ellie

Anger doesn't create connections and relationships love does.
