13) Acts 2:36-41
* This was the first sermon
* They were cut to the heart
* There was an urgency to see what they could do
*This was an eternal promise
-for everyone even now
1 Peter 2:9-10
* When you become a Christian you move from the darkness to the light
Light
People belonging to God
Royal Priesthood
Recieved mercy
Darkness
Not his people
Do not recieve mercy

* There is no middle ground
* Some people do not respond
Acts 17:30-31
Luke 13- Jesus says repent or perish
Hebrews 10:26- keep repenting
*we have to keep repenting
Acts 26:20
*we need to prove our repentance by our deeds

What are your thoughts on this as a whole?

Is this the attitude we are to have towards non-believers?

I understand that there is no middle ground

I understand Jesus said repent or perish.

How should we look at this? Should we look at this as "we're never going to be good enough so I gotta keep trying to be perfect". I feel like that would lead to a lot of bad stress. What do you think? I feel like we should be like, "We're never going to be good enough and we should always be trying but we also have to recognize that God knows our hearts, He knows the good the bad and the ugly and he still loves us. So while we are still trying we need to accept the grace that has been given to us and know that we serve a GOOD GOD. not a dictator." thoughts?

So I have a few more questions that don't pertain to this:

A) What role should emotions play in our walk with Christ?

B) are emotions good?

C) How should we view God?

D) How should we view ourselves as Christians?

E) How should we look at sin?

F) What is a healthy way to feel godly sorrow?

There may be more.

Thanks!

We are created in the image of God; but, if I look in the mirror and think I see God, I am, at best, deluded.

The three characteristics that we share with God are intellect, will, and emotion.

A Without emotions there can be no empathy or compassion no affection or concern. These are important to the Christian walk. When our emotions interfere with our walk of obedience we should pray for God's help in controlling or replacing them.

B Some are.

C. Owner, Savior, Father, friend

D. called to co-operate in service to God.

E. an unpleasant and distasteful intruder.

F. Our sin is already paid for because it was foreknown. We must not take lightly the idea that our sin now adds to Jesus' suffering back when He paid for it. If we truly love Him we will want to submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit.

Hmmm... the last one was kinda hard to read because of what happened but I understand and I agree.
