That would depend on how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood. Actually, this was covered in a previous thread last year.

Can see your predicament, cremation out of the question, but have you tried calling Animal Control?

yeah i know; it just brought another question to my mind.

depends on a lot of factors. is your proboscidea being buried by an avalanche/mudslide, sinking into a bog/quicksand pit, swallowed by a sinkhole or standing in a pre-fabricated mastadon-preservation tank?
what's the input rate of flow and the confined volume? is there an outflow spigot? what's the average density and viscosity of the bog/quicksand and the mass of your diplodocid? are there mitigating factors such as struggle or initial downward velocity?

Also, do you have a permit to bury it?

Well, I figure somebody who can't mix plaster should have somebody else bury their dinosaur, in the first place. Get a professional, try Angie's list.

It's not just utilities. One should consult local ordinances as to how close your dinosaur hole can even be to an easement, and it surely varies, county to county, the dinosaur hole ordinances. You better figure on the backyard, anyway.

conditions for fossilization are not "normal everyday" ones.
they involve avalanches, mudslides, volcanic eruptions, tar-pit / peat bog / quicksand / sinkhole mishaps and such.
relatively fast, catastrophic events.

please forgive our having fun with this thread - i know you meant to ask sincerely, with a point. :)

On the other hand, I'm still waiting on what's up with Lazarus from another thread, when prompted to ask. Now, we're either going to deal with Lazarus or this dinosaur problem.

i'm not sure what i would do if i looked at the forecast and it said "% chance of fossilization"
Probably wake up to the horror of a sudden realization ChristianChat has moved to the airwaves. (Probably not until the tribulation, though, which is no comfort to post-tribbers. Then again, nothing is.)
