Revelation 21 King James Version (KJV)21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Revelation 21:14-16 (NASB) [SUP]14 [/SUP]And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. [SUP]15 [/SUP]The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall. [SUP]16 [/SUP]The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod, fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal.
A new heaven (atmosphere) & earth is needed for two reasons:
1. The old one is cursed & must be destroyed.
2. The old earth & its atmosphere couldn't sustain a city 1,500 miles high. This is literal, because its dimensions were measured on purpose to prove its greatness & grandeur.
John 14:1-3 (KJV) [SUP]1 [/SUP]Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. [SUP]2 [/SUP]In my Father's house are many mansions (dwelling places): if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

be quarantined in just one central location; so that should people be curious to
see what death looks like, the lake will be open for tourists.
†. Isa 66:22-24 . . From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to
another, all mankind will come and bow down before me; testifies Yhvh. And
they will go out and look upon the corpses of those who rebelled against me:
their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be
loathsome to all mankind.
The lake of fire kind of reminds me of the La Brea Tar Pits museum in Los
Angeles where the remains of pre-historic creatures are on display that they
dug out of the bitumen deposits in that area.
Death will be nowhere else in the new cosmos because everybody there will
be 110% sinless.
†. 2Pet 3:13 . . But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens
and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
