This is a subject I have never been able to figure out. many ppl have their ideas what a women can and should do who women are to men and this world and not to mention the bible says many things about this too.

The idea of this thread is sadly a more selfish motive, I really want to learn and understand this subject from God's point of view even if that means I myself was wrong and need to change my view because one cannot ever learn the truth if they are not willing to lay it all down and the end result being admitting they were wrong.

So the view of women that I don't get.

A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. 12But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. 13For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.…

The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

actually there are many scriptures on seeing and treating women as such but i only posted these two as a base of the subject. Now then as many scriptures as I see of this I have never been able to figure this out. if it is in the bible then it is written it is God's words however something never felt quite right inside me about this. Many may see these scriptures and take it face value maybe take it as literal and may not question it. But I simply cannot do this, it just doesn't seem right. There are countless scriptures used to prove who a women is what they can and cannot do and make them seem a s less than man as second best. But I see these scriptures I see what they say but then I also look at who God is at who we are to him.

God is no respecter of persons correct? and he loves and cherishes all of us equally right? he sure doesn't seem sexist to me. So this is my main issue, the bible doesn't contradict itself only our view and understanding of it does. So I keep thinking to myself something is missing here something we aren't seeing and understanding. So I asked God about it and then an idea sparked. many use scripture like the one I posted above but I wonder how often we seek scriptures that speak of men and women from the view i see. So since i currently do not own a bible I went online to seek answers and as many scriptures as I found putting down women and saying who they are what they are allowed to do ect. I found much more scriptures saying something entirely different.

Proverbs 31:25

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come

Psalm 46:5

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.

Proverbs 3:15-18

She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called blessed.

But then I found this one that really got me and is what I have been saying and didn't even know it was in scripture

Galatians 3:26-29

For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise

So what is going on here?

My Pastor told me that it was more of a literal thing, in that back in the original churches men and women were segregated in the seating arrangements. So it wasn't good for a woman, if she had a question, to shout it across to her husband/father/family. It was more that she had to wait til it was all over and then ask the questions.

My family has always had this stance: Jesus is head of the church, the pastor is the head of the leaders, the leaders are heads (if they're male) of their households. So if something is up in that chain, it's for the head of whichever end to be responsible. Is marriage still a partnership? Yes! Should the husband be respected? Yes! Should the wife be a help-mate? Yes! And I think she should have an opinion about things and obviously help to keep her hubby in the right, but you can't take the wheel totally. Make sense?

Also I think the "women aren't allowed to teach" is poo. If God calls, God calls.

So I had a thought : if we are all "equal in christ" why can't we be equal in the home? And why don't men and women treat each other as EQUAL in Christ? Why isn't that the norm??
