So if you guys remember, I have asked on two occasions about the unpardonable sin. After reading the verses themselves, the chapter surrounding the verses, countless articles and videos, I have finally formed a kind of understanding of this. So I am going to say what it is, and I want you guys to tell me if I have understood this correctly, and feel free to correct anything that I may have misinterpreted. Do keep in mind that I'm only 15 almost 16 so maybe I did misinterpret a lot, but feel free to correct.

To start, let's take into account the fact that the unpardonable sin is brought up three different times in the Bible. Matthew 12:31-32,Mark 3:28-30, and Luke 12:9-10. Let's take a look at the verse in Matthew first, since this is the most commonly used when explaining this particular subject, since it has the most detail about the Pharasies's doings.

(31)Wherefore I say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men. But the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men. (32) And whosoever shall speaketh a word against the the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him. But whosoever shall blaspheme the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him. Neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

So let's take it into context here. A lot of people who explain the unforgivable sin to somebody (Including my own mother) Only use that one verse. He who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. And then that leads to the idea that general blasphemy (Cursing God or Jesus, having an abortion, being gay, etc) would be unforgivable. None of these are unforgivable. Because, if you'll notice about cursing God, it says whoever speaks a word against the Son of man will be forgiven, but who BLASPHEMES the Holy Spirit won't be forgiven. It doesn't say if you speak a word against the Holy Spirit you won't be forgiven. And another thing, God isn't the Holy Spirit. We believe in the TRINITY. The Father (God), the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit (The spirit of God). So let's check out the context.

22 Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.
23 All the people were astonished and said, "Could this be the Son of David?"
24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, "It is only by Beelzebub, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons."
25 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.
26 If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?
27 And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges.
28 But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of Godhas come upon you.
29 "Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can rob his house.
30 "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.
31 And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven 32
Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

Now let's take a look at this and break it down. They bring Jesus a blind and demon possessed man, and Jesus heals him. The Pharisees see this and say he is casting them out by the powers of Satan, rather than the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus tells them that a house divided against itself cannot stand, that Satan wouldn't cast out his own minions. The proceeds to explain Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. You cannot just look at a few verses and think you can explain them, you must look at the context they're being used in. This is our first hint as to what Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is. In this instance, it is to attribute the powers of the Holy Spirit to that of Satan. I also think there is a bit more to it, but more on that in a bit, for now let's move onto Mark.

20 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat.
21 When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, "He is out of his mind."
22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub ! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons."
23 So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan?
24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.
27 In fact, no one can enter a strong man's house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can rob his house.
28 I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them.
29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."
30 Because they said he hath an unclean spirit.

So by know we know that the unforgivable sin is Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. But this one brings into light some new evidence. "Because they said He hath and unclean spirit." So now, reading this, it is telling us that they're not forgiven because they said his spirit was not of the Holy Spirit, it was of Satan. Other than that, it says exactly what Matthew said. So now, moving onto Luke.

1 Meanwhile, when a crowd of many thousands had gathered, so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus began to speak first to his disciples, saying: "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.
3 What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.
4 "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.
5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.
6Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies ? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.
7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
8 "I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God.
9 But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the angels of God.
10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Alright, now that we have seen Luke, let's break that down. This time, rather than saying basically what Mark said. It is a different story, this time Jesus is speaking to a crowd. He tells them about the Pharisees, and what they did to him. He tells them "There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known." So Jesus is saying that he knows our thoughts, he knows what we're thinking even if we don't say it out loud. Then he says "Do not fear those who can kill the body then do nothing more, but I will show you whom you should fear. Fear him, who after killing the body, has the power to send you to hell." This tells you that Jesus is saying not to fear those here on Earth. You must fear the one who holds your fate after you die. Then he explains blasphemy against the Holy Spirit again.

So now that we've looked at all of that, let's think about what blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is. It is to attribute the work of the Holy Spirit to the power of Satan. It is to claim that Jesus is not Lord, it is refusal to accept him as your savior and repent your sins to him. I think the reason this sin is unforgivable is because they refused to repent to him. If they had gone to him and said "I've been thinking about what you said, and you're right. I wish to join you, and be forgiven for my sins." God would've forgiven them. Then we also take a look at the end of Mark when it says "They said He hath an unclean spirit." So right there, again, proof of what it is. I have several theories, but this one makes the most sense when broken down. But they all agree on one thing: If you're worried you have committed the unpardonable sin, then you haven't. If you had, your heart would be so hardened that you wouldn't care. The Bible shows us, in so many places, that God will forgive ALL sins. And this truly means ALL. ALL except one. God can't forgive your sins if you're not willing to come to him, so you have to come to him. He who comes to me I will in no wise cast out. None of us are too important for God.
