Or are you a pauper towards Him? Do you give Him your first in everything or are there things that you withhold? Job said that naked he came into this an naked he will leave. What things.. attitudes etc do you cling too?

Myself mainly. Self pity etc. I'm more of a pauper towards Him more than anything else. I lean on my own strength too much and not on His. On my own understanding on not on His. There's just too much to mention.

I prefer to wait to God to tell that.

God calls everybody to be saved, but only a few really allow the Holy Spirit really act in their life.

As to whether I am rich or a pauper I don't care, I will be whatever we desires me to be. If I am rich in his kingdom I will purposely lower myself to the least and I will gladly give any honor glory or treasure God ever gives me to whoever has the least in his kingdom. On the other hand If I am a pauper then I will be glad because I treasure no greater role than a lowly loving and humble servant. The fire that burns inside me it is not for my sake it burns solely for the love of God and all others, I could care less what happens to me and I could care less what I have to go through and what I have to suffer for him and for others.

The reason I exist the reason why I am going to be strong like him strong in love at the level he is why I will be willing to go the the extreme for the sake of just one lost child is for God and all others. I have no room in my heart for anything else but love and I swore I would only be love and I would only see with love. Blain himself can disappear for all I care the only one and the only thing that I will allow to exist inside me is him and him alone because only he is what it means to be strong because only such a love as deep as his is the treasure I seek.

One day the day may come when my fire is put to the test but I have seen what true strength is and I know that even if I am not strong yet God will make me that strong but I refuse to do this for myself I will not seek to be strong for my own sake. God and his children are the ultimate treasure and I will give everything I've got to protect and love them even if I have to lose everything even if i have to suffer greatly and intensely even if I have to suffer in the very fires of hell for a time I am going to be strong and I am going to be love. Hatred anger evil these are fuels that burn quickly but love the kind of love that only comes from God ignites a powerful fire inside the hearts of his children and that fire burns intensely and never dies it never weakens it will only grow stronger.

The dilemma that faces many believers...........put God first in ALL things...........easy to read/teach, not so easy in practice for new believers and even some mature believers, yet it is the KEY to walking Christ-like in my opinion.

Putting God first/fixing our eyes on Jesus, striving to do His will, and dying to "self" daily is so important for all believers.

In a world of "it's all about me," the concept of making it "all about Him" is a difficult task for many believers.

Is everyone called to give up everything for the Lord? Are we to give back to Him everything He gave us? or a portion?

I believe God is more concerned about us being willing to give up everything for Him, if asked by Him, then us actually doing so if not asked of Him. After all, everything still belongs to God whither or not it's in our possession or not.

God doesn't want or need our stuff. He is just doing us a HUGE favor by teaching us to be generous.....Because it is good for us to be. Generous toward Him and to people. It is in our best interest to be.

Perhaps I don't quite understand the question as well. Can we rich toward God in a spiritual sense? But have little to give in material possessions? Are you thinking more spiritually or physically Sirk?

I guess I was thinking both spiritually and materially. We sort of reveal our inner state (spiritual) by what we do outwardly in our actions.

You can never give your all to God, however you can try. and by trying, God knows your heart and you will blessed. Because God gives to you more than you give to him, do not be just takers. Share what God has given to you. If you can't. try. and try by God's strength. you be surprised how much blessing you will receive in return. Remember! What God gives to you, is not completely yours, it's been given to you to share to others so they can receive God's blessings. Because that's the kind of God he is, a blessing God, he just want to bless everyone and give it freely.

Everyone is on there own journey with God, and each and everyone will stumble, fall, back slide, and face uneven roads and will be side tracked and even be lead into sin. But the more you get closer to God, the more you journey your life with God, do it with his strength, at the same time praising God, thanking God, and giving him the glory on the way.

Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, Work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Yes they are linked for sure. But one my be rich spiritually toward God, and free give to others things of a spiritual nature, wisdom, knowledge, teaching, volunteer-time, the gospel, etc and have very little to give materially. Perhaps the thought we should have is have we given to the Lord lately or what have we given to the Lord. Although I wouldn't want to give the Christian an opportunity to boast. I certainly could do better and more.

I can do better as well. I'm glad Jesus settles for progress vs perfection with me. I fail to be as rich toward God as He deserves daily.

[h=3]The Parable of the Rich Fool[/h]13 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
14 Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?” 15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”
16 And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’
18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’
20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’
21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”

What things.. attitudes etc do you cling too?
Years of my life have been taken away due to road rage. I literally got out of my car once and challenged someone while on my way to worship -- pathetic. Thankfully, by the total grace of God, I've come a long way in maturing and being above the fray, but I still have some work to do.
