Where does it say in any of scripture that the work of being a disciple of Jesus means that women are exempt? Get real.

Mark 16:17-18
These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. I don't see any restriction, do you? A believer is a believer. Be elucidated.

Be careful using this passage from Mark because some will come back and say it was added on, which is was, to say it does not prove your point.

However the Apostle Paul gives many examples that women are not exempt from the offices of the church, and even mentions them as being prophets, and so on. People just want to constantly misuse his scriptures of women should keep silent in church. Those scriptures have nothing to do with them preaching, evangelizing, and doing the other works as all disciples are called to do.

You are certainly proof enough but God said when the perfect was come tongues would end. The perfect is the completion of Gods word the bible. The completion of the NT took that which was in part and completed the perfect word of God.

One only need examine how tongues are currently abused by the Gentiles in the church to understand that they are nothing like what the apostolic church had.

When you argue with God you always lose. You make all kinds of false accusations but you know that tongues will not reappear until the tribulation when they will be a sign for Israel. I did not say they ceased in 70AD I just said that God said they would cease when the perfect was come. The completion of that which was only till then in part. The NT completed the OT.

You have nothing to go on but opinion, and that opinion is taught and learned through the denominational churches who make an issue of denying. However, signs are there and tongues and prophecy are still active in the Body of Christ. You'd have to be pretty blind, switched off spiritually and insulated against the workings of God in the world to not see it.

Paul's right---women are NOT exempt from church positions, including using all the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

You have no idea what they were doing besides speaking in tongues. There was much excitement and the room they were in was full of noise and signs of fire over each one. There were 120 people there---more than just the disciples. People who observed them thought they were drunk, so Holy Spirit's overpowering of them was evident.

Ok then why are you in this site pushing women's lib.....go to the nearest Hospital and start healing...then come to St. Louis Children's Hospital and heal the sick kids...the truth is simple...the only reason your mouth is running is because your a woman who thinks she has been endued with power.....the bible is clear...receive it or keep boasting in your abilities and KENNETH is right....the last chapter of MARK is not found in many Greek Manuscripts and an additional point....get a cup of bleach and drink the whole thing...if your so right it will not hurt you! AND on top of that...show ONE example from the scriptures where a WOMAN HEALED ANYONE.....!

What happened at the day of Pentecost was the Apostles who all spoke the same language had the tongues given to them by the Holy Spirit of that of those from the surrounding nations that gathered outside. So it sounded strange to the Apostles because they were speaking different languages, but the crowd of people were amazed because these Jews were now speaking their languages.

In other words if you never have spoken Chinese in your life, but the Holy Spirit granted you to speak Chinese in order to give the gospel to a Chinese person who does not speak English. This is what happened at Pentecost!!!

This though is not the only mention in the bible about tongues, as Apostle Paul speaks in 1 Corinthians 13:1 of a language of angels that is also bestowed on us. This carries a clear command from Paul that it is not to be done in front of others if another one by the Spirit is not there to interpret.........

I don't worry about manuscript omissions. There are several. It makes no difference to me. God's character and His plan is not altered one iota. If it's there, and I can read it, it's God speaking.

Lose? You've already lost out on much blessing and usefulness by denying what Jesus has made clearly available to His Church, which he is still building until He comes for her.

Where does it say in scripture that tongues will disappear and then reappear? The Holy Spirit will be active during the Tribulation except to moce the hearts of Jews toward their Messiah, and working through the 2 witnesses and the 144,000.

The gifts will cease when Jesus comes, because He is the perfect who will come. We won't need the gifts as we will be with Him, glorified already.

Jesus was already ascended to the Father, and Paul was indeed referring to the perfected, completed Church, and that only happens when the Bridegroom comes to take Her as His wife.

Your emotional argument lacks merit and biblical support. Your case is disproved in the actions of yourself and others in the charismatic movement. Pentecostalism was a more noble cause when it upheld the tenets of purity and holiness. That as they say is all history.

It's an emotional argument to continually ignore and deny the free gifts God has for you to bless you and His people with. "Nuh-uh, God...don't want it. I'm good without it", and, "I don't believe what you're saying, God...you must mean your specialty gifts are for some other people long ago, 'cause today's Church is so much better than yesterday's Church!"

No scripture describes the church as complete. The church is always filled with souls who are at various stages of sanctification.

Yes but it is Israel that is experiencing them not the Gentile church. Joel your flesh is directly referring to Israel as opposed to all flesh.

Not entirely accurate as the church will exit before the tribulation. The church is not going to see wrath. Israel is going to be judged by God during the tribulation period. Then she will look upon Him whom they have pierced and all who remain in Israel will be saved as in a day.

I know, it is just some people will take the fact of it added on to deny what it said.
The problem with that is that one of the reasons it was added on was do to what was said in Acts 28:3-5......

3 But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
4 So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, "No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live."

First and foremost there Josh...I am a doer of the word, but like I said the last chapter of Mark has been added and I believe Paul's account in 1st Corinthians 13...the words cease, fail and vanish are CLEAR!.....Now since you want to defend your girlfriend...SHOW ME ONE PLACE WHERE A WOMAN LAID HANDS ON ANYONE AND THEY WERE HEALED...as a matter of fact show me TWO witnesses from SCRIPTURE....if it is SO IMPORTANT that WOMEN DO IT or CAN DO IT there will be EXAMPLES....I AM WAITING!
