Is a life without sinning possible?

Can you give me scripture where it is called, " the parable of the prodigal son."

This parable is about A MAN and HIS two sons.

The story is about how the FATHER deals with HIS two sons.

Stories focus on a central character. I have studied script writing enough to know who a protagonist is in a story. The protagonist of the story is the central character that drives the story.

That is not an answer with Scripture to the verses I put forth. In other words, explain the verses.

Often inside and outside of churches I have heard many people speak to new believers and say to them something to the effect of: "Congratulation my new brother/sister you are a Christian and you are forgiven, but that doesn't mean you're perfect, you will fail. But when you do just turn to Christ and ask for forgiveness."

In my early walk with Christ I found this to be a conversation that I thought all new believers should have. I thought that they should understand that they will mess up. After all they are only human.

That was until the LORD revealed to me the truth of the situation.
Now, after posting this I understand that I will get much backlash on the topic and people who will disagree.
And for those people I do not apologize. However, I ask that you seek out GOD for the truth.

I pose to you: Is it possible for a believer who has accepted Yeshua Messiah (Christ Jesus) into their hearts from the moment of conversion to life their life without sinning?

Now I know immediately there are those who have already jumped upon the "No" train.
But I urge you to listen my brethren. Open your ears and your hearts to the truth.

Here is a story:

A young boy walked up to his father who was resting on the couch after a long day of work and the boy asks his father:

Boy: Dad, is it possible to live without sinning?

Dad: No, son. If that were possible we wouldn't have needed a savior.

Boy: Well, Dad. If it isn't possible to live a life without sinning, is it possible to live a week without sinning?

Dad: A week? No, that is much to long of a time. No one could live an entire week without sinning.

Son: Okay, Dad. But, how about a day could a person go an entire day without sinning?

Dad: Maybe, son. But I don't think it could be possible, son.

Son: Well, how about a minute, Dad? Could a person live a single minute without sinning?

Dad: Well yeah, son. I think anyone could live a single minute without sinning.

Son: So, why don't we all just live our lives minute by minute?


Do you see? Would you say that you could live a single minute without sinning?
I bet so. I believe ever believer who has within them the Holy Spirit could live a single minute without sinning.
But if just a minute, why not 5, 15, 30minutes or even an hour?

I think we as believers have somehow given sin more power than it could ever have.
For this reason let's define sin for what it is. I have found that "Christians" have very little understanding of what sin is.
Sin is not some outside force that causes us to do wrong. Sin is more than just a label of certain material, objects, or behavior.

Romans 14:23
"But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith;
for whatever is not from faith is sin."

Here Paul has defined "sin" in the very simplest of terms.
Sin: for whatever is not done in faith to GOD is sin.

So allow me to ask you: How are we supposed to live our lives?

Are we not called to live our lives as living sacrifices to GOD? (Romans 12:1)
Are we not called to pick up our cross and walk with Christ who was without sin? ( Matt. 16:24 )
Are we not called and commanded to die to our self daily? (Luke 9:23; Romans 6:8)

Q: "So, what is the point of Jesus if we can live without sin?"

A: Without GOD, without Jesus it is impossible to live without sin. But with Jesus and the Holy Spirit to guide you it is 150% possible to live your life without sinning.

The majority of us here at CC agree that Jesus was 100% man as well as 100% God.
To those who don't I urge you to repent.

Jesus' life was proof that man + GOD can live a perfect life.
Jesus was as much human as I am and as you are.
The only difference between Jesus and us is that Jesus, from birth unto death, walk continuously with and in His Father's will.

After accepting Christ we are called what according to 1 Peter 1:23?

We are born-again.
Not of flesh but of spirit.

I proclaim loudly, that a Christian is called to live their life perfectly and holy and righteously.

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." - John 3:6

After receiving Christ we are commanded to "Go and sin NO MORE."- John 8:11


Still not convinced that we as Christians can live a life without sinning?

GOD's word is has been very clear from the beginning. GOD's people are called to live their lives righteously and without sin. If not the Bible is also very clear on what happens to those who do not turn from their sin.

"For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries."

If you abide in Christ you are called to live Holy.
Do mistakes happen, yes. Can you be forgiven for mistakes, yes.
But do not continue in your sin.

My final ounce of truth to add.
If, what Paul wrote in Romans 14:23 and "whatever is not done in faith is sin"
Then everything done in faith is righteous.
Therefore I offer to you this verse


Romans 1:17
" For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith,as it is written, 'The righteous shall live by faith.'"

Now with Paul's definition of sin.

If the righteous live faith, how then can they sin?
Is it not written, "We walk by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7

Therefore, my brothers and sisters. I urge you not to believe the lie, that is a crutch and an excuse for sin, but to go remember to pick up your cross and follow Christ. Go and cease your willful sin. Do not turn back onto your previous life of sin for according to the word:

2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

Do not turn back to your old life.

Luke 9:62
"But Jesus said to him, 'No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.'"

I liked your post even though I don't fully agree with it; because it was so well thought out and presented.

I agree with your basic premise that with the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit, believers can and do live lifestyles of obedience; and that in any given minute, we can indeed decide to do right.

Where I disagree with you is that I don't believe that in this world we can fully escape unguarded moments, wherein we stumble but do not fall.

who you talking about ? I've been there, done that (driven in Jersey and/or worse places, and didn't sin)....

so, WHY SIN? because you WANT TO SIN ? WHY? why not "want not to sin" ? don't even let sin enter into your thoughts, let alone acts and deeds.....

in other words, do what Jesus and the disciples did. do as Jesus always says, and as the disciples did in scripture....

Jesus and His disciples walked about in sinful places, and didn't sin. and if the disciples did sin, and sometimes they did, what then? were they rejected? or did they return, repent and be forgiven ?

I like what God said to Cain,

And him (that wicked) even the murderer from the beginning (has a desire unto individuals) seeking not only those he wants to devour but those he can use (even as Cain who opened the door unto him) to peform his lust through.

Sort of like laying in wait for anothers blood on a different level, just as someones words can lie in wait for anothers blood in much the same way as shown there. We see that all the time on boards where someone is relently pursued, becoming this endless target of anothers persecution. Seeking another brothers blood out in that way. Whether individualy so or in a pack, it is to be expected by those who would to live godly in Christ Jesus.

The principal of the one born after the Spirit (as then) as shown in Isaac and the manifestation of persecution (through the one born after the flesh is the same Paul shows, the persecutor (and the persecuted) as was being made evident.

Did you just admit that you can sin and still be saved? That means you have a license to sin. That you can do whatever sin you like and be in God's good graces and get to Heaven. That is so wrong. For surely you cannot rape people and be saved in the process of doing such evil. Surely you cannot hurt and abuse children all while being saved. Surely you cannot be a serial killer and be saved or porn star and be saved. Nor can you indulge in these things on occasion with the thinking you are saved, either. John 3:19 says anyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light unless their deeds shall be reproved.

Its like the prodigal son.Most everybody overlooks the son who is in the background thinking that He is "perfect" and he deserves what he thinks he should have.

We see the "reckless" son returned to the father.

We do not see the "perfect" son returned to the father.

I will be the prodigal son along with you. We went and hugged dad. Our brothers are just out in the field steaming mad that we "got away" with a lot. And they deserve more than you and I.

This is what is going to happen to the OLDER brother in this parable. The older brother is the evil(human good) one.

The older brother already had His inheritance. They split it up in verse 12.

Yet the Father was gracious with this self righteous, arrogant prig.

This son is going to have the pile of ashes at the Bema seat of Christ. The prodigal is going to have reward to cast at his Lords feet.
