Yeah..... You need to learn the "right" songs to sing, which knee to bow with, and which laws Jesus forgot to die for so that you can cover your butt by making sure to religiously perform those particular rituals. LOL (Yes, sarcasm intended)
i do appoligize, but i do not understand why you are being sarcastic in regards to what i said. Did you disagree with the advice that i gave, that a newly Saved person should know and understand what they need to DO as a Christian (namely to LOVE ONE ANOTHER) Then after that to study the Old Testament.

Do you agree with that or are you disagreeing with that? Sorry i do not understand why you are being sarcastic concerning my statement.
Also did Jesus or any Apostle teach using sarcasm? i was under the impression that sarcasm is rarely if ever done in Love. Have i then done something to you to offend you that you would reply to my comment to the OP in a sarcastic manner? If i have, i would like to repent of it.

different people seem to have an easier time with different parts of the bible...

before i became a christian i wanted to study the bible to find out if it was true...the majority of christians i talked with told me i should start in john...

however i found john almost impossible to understand...it seemed like john assumed that i already knew certain things that i didn't know at all...

so i quit that and started in genesis instead...after genesis i went on to exodus and then through the rest of the torah...eventually these books helped me to understand the teachings of jesus and when i realized that his teachings were true and in agreement with the rest of God's revelation then i became a christian...

anyway my point is...don't expect one person's favorite book to be the best book for -you- to start in...i even know a christian who started the bible with job!

Good. Then quit telling people there are things that they have to DO to be a Christian. This is often, sadly, the reason so many new Christians go straight to the Law of Moses to find all the rules they are supposed to DO. For Pete's sake, as good as loving is, you cannot TELL someone they have to do it.

I gave it the big "I Am", and tried to tackle the bible head on from page one. I'm struggling more than I thought.

I think I should take the advice and go straight to Matthew and John.

Will things make more sense in the old testament the next time I come back to it?
This is interesting to me. Years ago I read the Bible cover to cover three times. Now, suddenly, I've begun doing it again, but I'm not reading it start to finish. Instead I am reading it according to the books I want to read, starting with John, Acts, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John, Mark, and Revelation. I don't think it matters in what order you read the books, as long as you read them all.

You do greatly error in your thinking. Jesus Himself Commanded Christians to LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Was Jesus wrong to tell people what they HAVE to do? If then i tell people they must LOVE ONE ANOTHER as Jesus commanded, do you say i am wrong to do so? Yes you do say that, do you not?

Didn't the Apostles of Jesus Christ, every one of them tell us what we should DO now that we are Saved? Yes they do. You do error in your thinking. Jesus COMMANDED us to Love one another, and you say i am wrong because i teach the same thing Jesus plainly COMMANDED us to do. And if the new Christians you speak do error in seeking out the rules from the laws of Moses, how is that my fault because i told them the Truth? So you are upset at me for teaching the Truth and new Christians MIGHT end up going to the laws of Moses because they misunderstand the Truth which i told them? Is that why you are upset with me?

If i tell people you MUST DO what Jesus COMMANDED us to do, how do you say i am wrong to do so? It is because you do not know the Truth, if you did, you would recognize His voice when you heard it.

Jesus Commands us to Love one another
Apostles Commands us to Love one another
Prophets Commands us to Love one another
And since i command Christians to Love one another also, you say i am wrong to do so, Does that mean Jesus, Apostles, and the Prophets are all wrong too, because they did so?

Those who know the Truth, will understand the Truth when they hear it. Those who are devoid of the Truth will not know the Truth when they hear it. They have ears to hear but do not hear it.

There are things you must DO, once you are Saved, this is not my thinking, nor comes from my own intellect, That is what the Word of God plainly teaches. If then the Word of God teaches you must now put off

Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Col 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

Am i then wrong if i say and teach the same thing, that Christians should put off those things, they MUST NOT DO those things. Is the inspired by God scriptures telling us to TRY to put off those things or are they plainly telling us we MUST put off those things now that we are Christians. Those who know the Truth will understand that we as Christians MUST DO certain things that the Bible instructs us to do.

i teach the Truth, those who reject what i teach, do not reject me, (even though that is what they like to believe) they reject the Truth which Scriptures teach.

You go ahead and believe as a Christian we don't HAVE to DO anything once we are Saved, i will continue to believe the Bible which is full of what Christians MUST DO once we are Saved, such as the above verses is what a Christian MUST DO, as the Word of God instructs them TO DO.
