What are the signs of a false teacher according to Jesus in the Bible?

Matthew 16

The Leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees

5 When the disciples reached the other side, they had forgotten to bring any bread. 6 Jesus said to them, “Watch and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 7 And they began discussing it among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.” 8 But Jesus, aware of this, said, “O you of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves the fact that you have no bread?9 Do you not yet perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? 10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you gathered? 11 How is it that you fail to understand that I did not speak about bread? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that he did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Jesus mentioned lack of faith, truth, understanding and Holy Spirit(discernment).

Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

2 John 1:10-11 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: for he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Proverbs 17:15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Peter 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Ezekiel 22:28 And her prophets have smeared whitewash for them, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, “Thus says the Lord GOD,” when the LORD has not spoken.

Jeremiah 14:14 And the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own minds.”

Jeremiah 23:21 I did not send the prophets, yet they ran; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied.

Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Matthew 15:14 ...And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Yeah Jesus was extra (righteously) angry with the Pharisees and Scribes. They were extra prideful and thought they knew by their own works.

The issue of false teachers is easily avoided and recognized, the scriptures give us council of how to avoid, and recognize them, all one must really do is prayerfully search the scriptures to see if what is being taught is really there. also if one is to recognize false teaching, then one must be familiar with what is being taught, (many read but few study) when we fail to study the word for ourselves we open ourselves up to these false teachers, no matter how well known and respected a teacher is their doctrine should always be verified by simply comparing what they say with what is written, no man is beyond making mistakes, we should never wholly trust in any persons teaching, besides a good teacher will encourage this... psalm 118:8

That is sooo true. Our Lord Jesus had a tender love for regular people, people enslaved and burdened by various sins, but people honest, from the standpoint of not being pretentious of any holiness, and loving the goodness of the Lord. But the self righteous of Matthew 23? Katie bar the door! You'd get banned here, letting loose on some like our Lord did. And you know something else? The "holiest," the most self righteous, those same Scribes and Pharisees who strained at a gnat, were, in the main, as black as Satan in their hearts, with hatred raging to murder the Lord. If there is one thing extra poisonous, the Bible teaches, it is self righteousness, pride of life.

Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Proverbs 11:2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Proverbs 13:10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

problem is people are too quick to shout "false teacher" simply because someone says something that they do not agree with. not one person gets everything 100% correct.

I haven't noticed this, it seems more the case there are those who are on a constant agenda of teaching false doctrines which refute even basic Christianity. If it were so somebody just has something wrong with a verse or whatever, that would be true, but I wouldn't call that a false prophet. A false prophet has a lying gospel in some way and is not interested in truth, even when presented clear scripture, for instance. Cults teach the teachings of extra-Biblical false prophets, don't really care what the Bible says contrary, when push comes to shove: the preeminent teachings are of the cult leaders, not even Christ.
