C'mon, friends, this thread isn't about the Catholic Church. There's already plenty of threads bashing Catholics. Let's not turn this one into another one.

Mwc kind of brought it up so people are responding to that I think.

I am sick just reading this garbage that its the Catholics fault! Ya'll really hate the Catholics! Rethinking my account here

Are you denying Catholics have blood on their hands over this?

I do not hate Catholics but I hate the sin they have voted for and supported.

(Don't pretend Catholics do not do their share of bashing others)

I dont hate Catholics but I cannot agree with many beliefs of the RCC. You brought up the subject of the church so really cant blame others for giving their opinion on that. Now we need to stop derailing the thread and talk about the court ruling. You dont know what the church will and will not do any more than I do.So lets drop the subject or start another thread on it.

I only said that the church will never marry same-sex couples as a positive for the church. That's when the bashing began. You want me to leave? I will

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 on Friday that it is legal for all Americans, no matter their gender or sexual orientation, to marry the people they love.
The decision is a historic victory for gay rights activists who have fought for years in the lower courts. Thirty-seven states and the District of Columbia already recognize marriage equality. The remaining 13 states ban these unions, even as public support has reached record levels nationwide.
The justices found that, under the 14th Amendment, states must issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples and recognize same-sex unions that have been legally performed in other states. Justice Anthony Kennedy delivered the majority opinion and was joined by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer and Sonia Sotomayor. In a rare move, the four dissenting justices each wrote an opinion.
The lead plaintiff in Obergefell v. Hodges is Ohio resident Jim Obergefell, who wanted to be listed as the surviving spouse on his husband's death certificate. In 2013, Obergefell married his partner of two decades, John Arthur, who suffered from ALS. Arthur passed away in October of that year, three months after the couple filed their lawsuit.
Obergefell was joined by several dozen other gay plaintiffs from Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee who were fighting to be able to marry and to have their marriage recognized in every state in the country.
In the majority opinion, the justices outlined several reasons same-sex marriage should be allowed. They wrote that the right to marriage is an inherent aspect of individual autonomy, since "decisions about marriage are among the most intimate that an individual can make." They also said gay Americans have a right to "intimate association" beyond merely freedom from laws that ban homosexuality.

Spare us? This nation has become the great harlot.

We're the center core, ground zero, bulls eye, home plate and full-throttled focus of His kindled anger.
I fear you are correct brother but 2 Chronicles 7:14 is still in effect:[SUP]14 [/SUP]if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Having said that.....

We MUST prepare our hearts and minds for the true persecution this ruling will usher in for Christians. We have to think of Paul and co. singing in their jail cells at the knowledge that they were priveledged enough to suffer for the Gospel.

what a strange statement. God IS in control of the world. Nothing happens without His permission, even this. He allows us a loose rein.
ASV - We know that we are of god and the whole world lieth in the evil one. 1 John 5:19
AMP - We know (positively) that we are of god, and the whole world (around us) is under the power of the evil one.
Darby - We know that we are of God and the whole world lies in the wicked (one).
ESV - We know that we are from God and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
KJV - And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
NASB - We know that we are of God and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
NIV - We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

That is why Jesus says concerning the Jews who did not believe him: You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. John 8:23

And to his disciples: If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. John 15:18,19

And even in this situation: Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. John 16:20 We have to live in this world but we are not to be a part of this world. We will be sorrowful because of the things that are happening around us but our grief will turn to joy in the Millennial Kingdom and also in the Eternal Kingdom.

I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the owrld. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them form the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. John 17:14-16

Call it what you will, but...

Genesis 2: 23-24 (KJV)

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Today in America the definition has been officially redefined by 9 Usurpers.
Actually only five. It was 5-4. :/

At least those 4 had the right idea.

We ought to obey God and not man in these matters that oppose God's

Genesis 2:22-24 (KJV)
22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Acts 5:29 (KJV) Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Correction received...I think I heard that those five walked down the steps singing "love is all we need".
