There are no check and balances in the Catholic Church when they teach that what the Pope says comes directly from God and is NOT to be questioned!

No you do not see the Pope as God but you Catholics do see Mary as God.

Everything the Catholic Church teaches about Mary makes her a God that is equal to the True God!

Example: Only MARY could keep Jesus without sin and God did not have the power to keep Jesus without sin. Talk about putting Mary way above God!

The clergy and Bishops are the checks and balances. You may see the pope as God. I don't
What does the term 'vicar' of Christ mean to you in relation to the pope?

HA! If the pope is seen as infalible. No clergy or bishop is going to question a thing he says.

I do not see the pope as God. I see a man trying to play God who needs saved, before he spends eternity in Hell.

Actually the NASB is the most accurate Bible because its a word for word translation not a thought for thought translation like some are.
You mean a translation of a copy of a copy of a copy of a translation of a copy of ........................... ?

Clearly, no 'original' manuscript exists to translate from.
Nobody knows what errors, additions or deletions have occurred.

Vicar means representative, so I would say representative of Christ, NOT Christ, NOT God, a man

This is what happened with the catholic church. The pople is seen as God, thus no matter what he says, everyone take him at his word that it is from God.
Just to pop my head in here for a post or two. We Catholics are not required to agree with everything the pope utters, as papal infallibility applies to the pope's official statements regarding doctrine and other important matters.

Papal infallibility ensures that the pope will be kept free from doctrinal error. It doesn't apply to areas where the pope voices his personal viewpoints. (e.g. Dark Chocolate is the best kind of chocolate.)

And we don't see the pope as God. He see him as a representative of God.

Thanks you just proved my point.

at any time in history, The pope could place his personal viewpoint concerning doctrine (say like the sinlessness of mary) and the rest of the popes and priests and people after him would take it as Gods word. and 1500 years later, People would claim the church has always believed that.

Thats how the jews came up with all their doctrines which were not from God. they made the same mistake.

When representative means vicar and vice versa, it really is not muc of a title for all who are in Christ form members of His Body in this age. Is this not correct vicar? Yours truly, vicar........

Once while visiting my hometown area in Missouri, a very kind and wonderful woman, my Grandpa's neighbotin Clifton Hill, went to a lot of trouble to explain to me the great difference betwen the Baptists and the Methodists.

She informed me that while the Methodists believe the arc in the sky is is God's promise to mankind never to destroy the world again, the Baptists believe it is God's promise never to destroy the world again by flood.

At 14, I thought, "Huh?" I have thought this ever since about differences in denominattions under the umbrella called Christianity. It is this type of great abysses between denominations that obliges me to rely on the Holy Spirit whil reading God's Word and praying for understanding.

Do you have a denomination? I feel the same about yours. Now I know, because of various lessons from Jesus Christ, that there are family members in just about all denominations, so I have family everywhere. Those who are strict denominationalists have a much smaller family, if any at all..........

God bless all who are in Jesus Christ.

From the bible the word vicar means one in place of. The Holy Spirit is the Vicar of Christ. He was promised to those who are believers and not to the world. Jesus said I will not leave you comfortless but will send the Comforter to you.

Vicar is derived from the word vicarious which is also the sacrifice of Christ in our stead. Christ crucified in our place. A vicarious death for us.

For the RCC to claim the pope is the vicar of Christ is an insult to Christ and the church who are the church universal.

For the cause of Christ

Nonsense?

We are to expose the deeds of Darkness Pumicestone.

Ephesians 5:11
[SUP]11 [/SUP] And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

We are to expose the unfruitful works of darkness of the Catholic Church. Mary being without sin is a unfruitful work of darkness that the Catholics do everyday.

Praying the "Hail Mary" to Mary is an unfruitful work of darkness that we are to expose to the World for all to see Pumicestone.

To you Pumicestone it may be nonsense because you have not received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

How can you see Spiritual Truths when your eyes are blinded by Satan? You cannot.

Anyone who rejects the ex cathedra (Mary) dogmas cannot rightfully call themselves a Roman Catholic.
