True. I know some Southern Baptist churches that when a person signs on the dotted line, and is voted in, they have to fill out a Personal Information sheet......all sorts of stuff on it. The kicker is they have to reveal exactly how much money they earn...........and they are expected to pay Tithe on that number, and if they don't, they get a visit from the Deacons of the church.......
Hebrews 13:5 .) Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 .) So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Why am I a protestant? Because I was brought up to go to a protestant church id the short answer. It is true that some change denominations as adults, but most stay in the church they were brought up to go to.
Now I am an adult I am glad i was brought up a protestant.

I am a Bible believing Christian, saved by faith and seeking to follow Christ. I do not see myself as a Protestant. I rather see myself as following true Apostolic (1 st century) teaching against which the likes of the Roman Catholic Church protest.

I follow Jesus of the bible, not church tradition. My faith is based on love and repentance not ceremonies or authority of a religious man who I must listen to.

I worship with like minded people, who do not accept what the RCC became and all it added through church cannon law.
A protestant is a protester against the excesses of the the state church, and the name comes from Luther.

But my tradition is more with the anabaptists who were twice baptisers. They believe in dedicating children to the Lord and believers baptism when individuals are ready to make a personal public statement of faith to Jesus.

They were called twice baptisers because most people were christened as children, which was called baptism, but full immersion baptism was deemed as a rebellion against this tradition, which in part is true.

It's true, you either believe the Bible or you don't, you cannot call yourself a follower of Christ and then add or take from The Word. RC's, JW's and so on have added to The Word.

When I renewed my faith, I never liked it when people try to call me "Protestant" because it makes it sound like my faith emerged later and not with Jesus Christ and the apostles. I just told people that I believe in the Bible and that I am a Christian. In recent years, I have learned that most Protestants are in support of Once Saved Always Saved. Catholicism is the opposite wrong extreme of that. They believe that by the rituals and deeds you do for the Catholic Church is what one must do to be right with God. One is a gospel that allows for some kind of immorality to take place in one's life and the other is a gospel of pagan ritual oriented works.

Jesus Christ is the source of a person's salvation. If a man abides in Him and allows Christ to do the good work in them, then they are saved. For a person is saved both in Justication and in Sanctification (With Christ being the author of both of those processes). A church and or it's set of rules or beliefs is not going to save anyone. Only Jesus and his Word can save.

Denial is a river in Egypt and you prove your ignorance by your statement. My dad is alive and well and I just asked him if that story took place. I already knew it did, but just to please your defensive mind, I asked him anyway and He confirmed it. Hate? No, just truth.

There's no need for anyone to apologize, my friend. That was long ago, and when you're given lemons, you simply make lemonade. As far as joining the RCC, though I do enjoy the traditional aspects of Catholic Mass, I see Catholic theology as heretical and not in line with Scripture, so I would never join unless God told me to do so.

I am catholic. I am not Roman catholic. Catholic means universal. Roman catholic is a contradiction in terms. Roman catholic is also a contradiction against the bible.

I am catholic because I am part of the universal church Christ built from the living stones. Believers washed in His blood sealed by His Holy Spirit unto the great day of redemption when I shall stand in Him complete to the glory of the Father in heaven.

I protest anything and all things that are in opposition to my Savior Christ, the holy bible and the faith once and for all delivered to the saints. I protest all things in which there is no virtue for Christ, no purity of Christ and no hope for eternity.

    For the cause of Christ

I dont see myself as a Protestant or a Catholic just a Christian. When I was young I was prbably considered to be agnostic
in my thinking verging on Atheism. The Pop culture of the 60,s led me to start searching for some meaning in life and I dabbled in Eastern religions. In 1971 I met a group of young Baptist Christians and I became converted. I was Baptised on Easter
Sunday 1972. Had I met a group of Anglican or Roman Catholic Christians I may have identified with them instead. Only God knows.

The word "Catholic" is more associated with Roman Catholicism than the other use for that word. For me, I always felt it best in my walk with God to far distance myself from what is popular or with the use of a word or certain words that can be mistaken for paganism. For we are to avoid in having an appearance of evil.
