“Ho, EVERY one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? And your labour for that which satisfieth not? Hearken diligently unto me and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness” Isaiah 55:1-2

From the above scripture, wine and milk, represent the Spirit and Power of God (The Anointing). And God makes a clarion call for us to come and buy them. And that, without money or any price…

But inasmuch as he doesn’t want us to buy his Spirit or the Anointing with physical currency (or money), he does expect us to buy them with some demands. After all, if there was absolutely no price for getting the Holy Spirit and his Power, then there won’t be any need for the term ‘Buy’.

So in a spiritual sense, God doesn’t want us to get his Spirit or Anointing with any financial or material price. But all the same, he does expect some things to be exchanged. And this implicit prices can be found right on the scripture above and other scriptures as we’re going to examine soon.

You know, very recently, I have been experiencing the heavenly presence and Power of God in an unusually increasing dimension. And as I meditate on the reason for the Anointing, my eyes are being opened to some scriptural truths that prompts God to anoint his children in an ever increasing dimensions…

And I’m here sharing these truths, so those folks who have been looking up to God for his presence and Power of his presence (the Anointing), can know the right spiritual (and scriptural) buttons to press. And more so, those who have been pressing the wrong buttons can re-align their selves appropriately.

So without any ado…

How Do We Buy The Anointing?

  1. Salvation- Acts 2:38: The first step to receiving the presence and Power of God, is to genuinely repent and accept Jesus as your Lord and personal savior.
  2. Thirst- John 7:37-39: From the opening scripture of Isaiah 55:1, the word of God says: “Ho Every one that thirsteth…” So before God will anoint you, you need to thirst for the Anointing. If you do not thirst for it, or you’re unbelieving- may be as a result of religion- he won’t anoint you with his Power, because God does not give to people what they don’t desire or believe in.
  3. Absolute and Sacrificial Obedience: From the opening scripture, the word of God says: “Hearken diligently unto me…” So as you hearken diligently to God through his word and the leading of the Holy Spirit, you get more and more anointed. As you apply the one he gives you according to his will, he will anoint you the more.

Then finally, because of space, you also buy the anointing by continually being on the lookout for souls and evangelizing them (soul winning) (Matthew28:18-20). You buy the anointing by continual, quality-time, fellowship with the Holy Spirit. You buy the anointing by continual repentance and sanctification by the help of the Holy Ghost…
For a detailed teaching on the Anointing and the scriptural price to pay, get Benny Hinn’s Book; “The Anointing ”.

I wouldn't accept a book by Benny Hinn if it were free and offered with a new car.

This is great! I never thought I would see the day when Benny Hinn would tell people NOT TO SEND HIM MONEY. And I imagine he is offering that book free of charge, too?

What's going on? I'm a Nigerian, all I do is just read anointed book to be blessed and to be a blessing too. What's this craze about Benny Hinn every where I turn? Can you please explain to me what people think is wrong with Benny Hinn and his ministry?

My friend

It is written "seek and you will find", and you seem to be looking hard, which is to your credit.

I have viewed numerous sources and believe that as God directs the steps of those that are his that we can find Gold in even the muddiest of waters.

Ask the Spirit to guide your way and learn from lots of sources.

Its great that you have a Salvation narrative that currently works for you, may God Bless and enhance your Devotion and Understanding.

I can't remember where it is in the book of Acts, but there's a passage concerning the buying the anointing of Holy Spirit and the dangers in doing so. As for Benny Hinn, what isn't wrong with his ministry? Not much. I'm sure he speaks some truth, but I won't trust him as far as I can throw him. Finally, I personally just think that verse you referenced, concerning wine and milk, is just that, wine and milk. No need to overspiritualize everything. Don't want to be mistaken for a Gnostic now, do we?

I don't know about that "buying" part.......having some trouble with that, even given the explanation in the OP......

As for "anointing," there are Scriptures which speak to it.

James 5:14 - Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Mark 6:13 - And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed [them].

Exodus 30:31-33 - And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations. (Read More...)

Exodus 40:9 - And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that [is] therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy.

Matthew 6:17 - But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;

Exodus 30:22-25 - Moreover the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, (Read More...)

1 John 2:27 - But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

1 Samuel 10:1 - Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured [it] upon his head, and kissed him, and said, [Is it] not because the LORD hath anointed thee [to be] captain over his inheritance?

Hebrews 1:9 - Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, [even] thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Acts 10:38 - How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Psalms 23:1-6 - (A Psalm of David.) The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. (Read More...)

Genesis 28:18 - And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put [for] his pillows, and set it up [for] a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.

Psalms 127:1-3 - (A Song of degrees for Solomon.) Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain. (Read More...)

Luke 4:18 - The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Luke 7:46 - My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

If all you've got to say concerning Benny Hinn, is the fact that he is a false teacher, or prophet, then I don't have one bit of problem with him after all. Because these are the same accusation leveled against other great men of God that I mentioned in my sermons in this forum and other forums as well. They also accused Kenneth E Hagin and The Apostle of Faith-Smith Wigglesworth of being false prophets and teachers, just because they do not understand their doctrines.

You know, I think why God is not judging the folks that are flaming this men of God like he did to Mariam (concerning Moses) is the love of this Prophets and the special grace of God. At least in my country, I have heard of instances when God judged insolent people as fast as possible concerning his ministers in just the same way he did to Mariam.

You know people are not afraid of God and his Anointing. But the folks indulging in this kind of stuff, I warn you, desist, because there are deadly consequences from God.

He has been shrouded in controversy. Some true, some just the same cessationists stalking all spirit baptised ministries.
This site is overrun by cessationists. They will tell you the anointing is bad, tongues are bad,and there is no such thing as the baptism of the HS.

Get all the books you can on the HS. Seek the HS.Pursue the anointing like Elisha did.

KNOW FOR A FACT,PLENTY OF PEOPLE WILL TELL YOU ,YOU ARE WRONG AND BENNY,AND OTHERS ARE OF THE DEVIL.

That is the way it is,and the way it will always be.

Think about it. part of the price is ridicule and opposition.

Well, at least you used the "s" option and not the "S" option for Spirit, that's one thing. :)

Still, Spirit baptized ministries and Benny Hinn are not two things I ever expected to see in the same sentence. :)

Oh, wait, I used the "S" instead of the "s", never mind, carry on

FYI: I think anointing is wonderful. That tongues as actually taught in Scriptures is one of the Gifts of the Spirit, and that Holy Spirit baptism is Godly.............

Rabbit trail friend.
I have the word to back me up.
I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in 1977. Will never forget it as long as I live.

You attribute the things of the Holy Spirit to demons or what?

Weird..........how does your comment relate to mine? Oh, you think only those who are believers in Benny Hinn have the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Is that what you are saying?

Why crush this man's spirit?
that is quite the accusation

maybe you have crushed me...why did you do that?

Mr Hinn is a false prophet...he has prophesied many things that have not and will not come to pass

perhaps we should consider stoning him...oh wait...that is no longer something we do under the new covenant

maybe we should just warn people that he is both a false prophet and a false teacher...as has been done be several here

for your consideration:

I speak in tongues, pray in tongues and believe in the gifts

this site is not overrun by cessationists...that, is simply a sensationist accusation

many people do not go around openly admitting they speak in tongues (me? I don't care because I don't abuse the gifts) BECAUSE of people like Hinn and others...they don't wish to be identified with that phoney baloney so called annointing

Galatians 3:1-3 (KJV)
1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Sounds free to me.

Acts 8:17-24 (KJV)
17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

great...now this thread has just morphed into a bash Hinn thread with a distinct offset for bashing cessationists...and the favor returnrd

people like Hinn MAKE people take sides...by the very nature of their false predictions and false healings

here is a glaring false prophecy from Hinn

Orlando Christian Center, Dec. 31st, 1989."The Lord also tells me to tell you in the mid 90's, about '94-'95, no later than that, God will destroy the homosexual community of America. [audience applauds] But He will not destroy it - with what many minds have thought Him to be, He will destroy it with fire. And many will turn and be saved, and many will rebel and be destroyed."
- Benny Hinn
