Since the New Testament doesn't specifically allow for using satellites and radio repeaters (much less telephones and walkie talkies) to spread the gospel.....is it a sin to use the radio and whatnot to teach the bible? Would the proper way be to walk or swim to the locale in which you wanted to spread the gospel?
I don't think it's a sin to use satellites to spread the gospel. I do think whatnots and radio repeaters are ...

But mostly because I don't know what they are, so it must be, right?

And, back at you. Did I sin tonight because I ate peach pie? Peaches aren't in the Bible at all. :(

I guess we should all stop using the internet and this forum and ask for this forum and website to be shut down then.
By walking or swimming? I mean how do we ask, if we aren't supposed to use electronics, right? lol

Ya...i think peaches are outlawed because they weren't mentioned at all in the new testament....as well as brownies. It's the devils food.

I don't even think we can use regular mail. Do you think smoke signals would be crossing the line?

We really should be cooking our food in an open pit fire. And crockpots...if you've ever used one for a potluck you've likely committed a grave error.
We had portabello mongo mushroom grilled tonight. Did we mess up because it's a propane grill? And did we mess up more because hubby made the gazpacho with the food processor? (I'm pretty sure we messed up by using plastic plates. lol)

it's pretty cool how Adam and Eve made clothes out of fig leaves, but God made better ones for them out of animal skins (Genesis 3:21).

if not for that, i think nudists might have a valid argument.
If Adam hadn't eaten the fruit, might we not be all running around naked today?

God created all things for His glory. So if we can use the new things for His glory I don't see why we shouldn't.

Now get me some white-out so I can fix this typo...

Who cleans off your screen when you use white-out? Hubby refuses. I don't think that's fair.

i can't find anywhere in the New Testament where smoke signals are specifically authorized.

does that mean we are limited to word-of-mouth and handwritten epistles carried by fellow believers on foot, on boat (without motors, of course) or on donkey/horse?

probably not when it's cold, but to be honest apart from that original sin, and how it's in all of us producing temptation, i can't really come to a reasonable argument why not other than protection from the elements & such!

Posts regularly carried messages in the Old Testament and they're the forerunners, no pun intended, for our modern day Post Offices.

Smoke signals were used in the Bible, too:

Judges chapter 20 verse 38

Now there was an appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers in wait, that they should make a great flame with smoke rise up out of the city.

Genesis chapter 1 verse 11

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
