Would you call King James 'James?' Would you call the the President 'Barack?' I'm just trying to figure why do people disrespect Gods names by calling Him by his name like this. To my understanding even the True Jews knew this and didn't call him by his name like he was a simple commoner He was God Almighty, Jehovah the true Jews had enough sense to not call him like that. I've never called my father by his first name.
Not saying God doesn't hear us if we do this or that this is a sin just something I think about lol help me out

When Moses asked God his name He gave him the name YaHWeH Elohim. So it is not disrespectful to call God by the name he gave us.

Regarding the Jews, their Talmud forbid them to speak God's name out loud... not the Bible.

Well, Yahweh isn't a name, it is a title. So it is more like calling King James "King" or "your royal highness" than calling him James

In Ex. 3:13-14, Moses asks God, “Whom should I say has sent me?” and God responds by saying, “I AM that I AM… You must say this to the Israelites, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” However, it could be awkward for Moses to go to the Israelites and Pharaoh and say, “I am has sent me.” So, in Ex. 3:15 God revises this phrase and changes it to the third person by saying, “Tell them that ‘He is’ has sent you.”
The word “He is” comes from the Hebrew root word haya, which means, “to be.” It is the third person form of this word, “He is,” that becomes the name Yahweh.

God is holy and righteous, but He's also hugely relational. He wants us to get to the point where we're so tight with Him that we can call Him, "Abba" (Papa) and feel safe and secure in the knowledge that we're His.

So based on your logic anyone can call anyone anything?, also, why does basic logic refute this?

what on earth are you talking about?
the P claimed that saying Jahweh is like using a common name for God. While in truth it is a title God gave himself.

The Psalmists consistently addressed God as YHWH (in many English texts translated as LORD).. They did it with great respect. What then is wrong with our doing the same?.

YHWH is the third person singular of the ancient form of the verb 'to be' hawah. Its pronunciation is not certain. It could be qal (He will be) or hiphil (He causes to be).

This is an interesting take on calling God by Hebrew names.

I think some do it so they can sound more holy or knowledgeable than others, to be honest. It is like the Quakers when they used the "thee" and "thou" language of the King James version of the Bible.

God knows all languages, though, so he knows who they are talking about regardless if they use "God" or "Yah" or "Yahweh".

Would you call King James 'James?'.
Yes why not and because James was his name.

Would you call the the President 'Barack?'.
Of course and many do and sometimes i'm sure that people also call him by his first and last name.

I'm just trying to figure why do people disrespect Gods names by calling Him by his name like this.
Because it is not disrespectful to call someone by their name?. I honestly don't know what to say about how you think?

Am I not supposed to call you Brody? After all, isn't that the name you have given us to call you? Is it disrespectful to call someone by the name they call themselves when someone asks, "What's your name?"

Moses asked God for his name. God said, "I AM that I AM," which in that language was Yahweh.

BTW, I'm Lynn, but answer to AtWhatCost, AWC, @?$, Mrs. Cost, (love that one. Never expected it lol), Sister, and even Yo You! :D

Obvious question, how was logic applied at all in that throwaway?

I love logic, but haven't seen any come from you yet. True, I do ignore you most of the time, but that's because you just throw stuff out and see if anyone is gullible enough to accept it. Guileless and gullible may sound close, but they're not.

one issue here is God said I am the alpha and the omega the beginning and the end meaning he all ready knows our past present and future as he has always been just like in the old days when scripture was written, there would have been no reason for God to REVISE or CHANGE a thing he has spoken. If something has changed it was of Men

God doesn't change, but He did reveal more of Himself to His people throughout the Bible.

very true but as the quote I did the author said God revise changed Ex 3:15 how we word things is important
God never revises or changes his wording indeed he reveals more about himself to us but never has to revise or change it.

God does inspire us through our own free will to change or revise as king James revised changed the bible to a English speaking bible so more of us could read it.
