John 3:16-18
16“For God so loved the world,[SUP]i[/SUP] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

What should be considered fundamental doctrines?
You are saved by Grace through faith not by works.

Grace is a gift and after salvation let GOD teach you.

The word doctrine means teaching.....it would seem that the foundations of biblical Christianity would fit the bill.....

1. Salvation
2. Immersion
3. What a church is
4. The purpose of the (a) church
5. Ordinances
6. Offices
7. Comission
8. Etc.....

What should be considered fundamental doctrines?

There is only one true doctrine and not many, but there is steps in this biblical doctrine that should be instructed on...

1) Faith established by hearing the word

2) Repentance of sins

3) Baptism that was commanded by the Lord (water immersion)

4) Receiving of the Holy Spirit

5) Keeping ones confession in the Lord = keeping the faith

6) Forgiveness, Love, and Mercy

7) Walking properly in the faith by the fruits of the Spirit

8) Instructing on biblical warnings of falling away from the faith

9) Apostasy churches and what they teach

10) Prophecy understanding

HEB 6:1-2.
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection;
not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead,
and of eternal judgment.

11JOHN 1:9.
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.
He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

in short, the Word of Christ not only teaches us the basic Doctrine, but it also teaches us
the details of our calling - what is expected of us -
the main thing that we should keep in mind is that we shall all 'stand before the judgment seat of Christ,
therefore let us live our lives accordingly'.

Acts 2:22-24; 29-33 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it . . . . Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit he hath shed forth this which ye now see and hear . . . .

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

Simply put - Jesus Christ birth, death, and resurrection.

iam with the guy that said love! However I am not sure love is a doctrine. Doesn't feel like one when you walk in his love anyway. Maybe law is doctrine and not necessary at all?

Before i respond i just wanted to make sure i understand your statement correctly :)

Is this saying what you mean "It is my understanding that JESUS is our lawyer(Grace)if we believe in him.
The accuser is the law?

If this is what you are saying then i agree.

If you are saying we should believe in JESUS and Moses then that would be true also but needs more explanation after you have tried the law and could not keep it perfectly then called on JESUS to save you that would be the better way to say it.

but they are separate you can't mix them together.

What should be considered fundamental doctrines?

The belief that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead on the third day for the forgiveness of sins.

I was glad to see resurrection mentioned. Paul says that if Christ be not risen their preaching and our faith is vain and they are false witnesses.
