Friends,

After much prayer, consideration, and seeking both heavenly and professional guidance, I have accepted a contract with the Veterans' Medical Center of Kansas City to assist veterans with the dual diagnoses of addiction (alcohol, drugs, disordered gambling, pornography -- all of which I am licensed to treat) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I bring multiple abilities to this counseling service, including having had PTSD as a result of my own 20-year service, and both the psychological and the spiritual background to help these men and women address those issues.

As a result, I will spend very little time on here from now on. Perhaps none. I've enjoyed my months fellowshiping with all of you -- yes, even you, Ken
-- but that must come to an end. This is truly a challenging opportunity. Where I could spend ten-fifteen hours a week with a private caseload of 20 clients and support my wife and I quite well, this new opportunity provides a chance to do some groundbreaking work in addressing our veterans' most difficult battle of their careers -- getting themselves back.

Please pray that God enables me through the power of His Holy Spirit to discern these clients' needs, to be fearless in helping them find themselves again, and in the process, open themselves up to the Lord who seeks them. Ask the Lord to make me tireless in finding answers biblically and personally for each man and woman. Ask Him to help me do my best for them, as they have done their best for all of us.

This will also severely curtail my marriage/family counseling, which I have done primarily through church referral from our state association of the SBC. Pray those couples whom I will continue to see, as I've made a commitment to them, will receive from me the deserved time and attention they need, and pray that those who need help who would have been referred to me can find adequate counsel elsewhere.

When and if I can peek in, I will, but don't count on seeing much of me. God bless you all.

I have enjoyed many of your post tremendously and you will be missed.

May God be with you my brother in Christ and enable you to help make these lives complete. I will pray for you in this new adventure knowing God will be behind you 100% and He will guide and assist you in your management of scheduling so that you will be able to give what is needed to each veteran and/or each couple that comes to you for help.

Stay bold, stay strong, stay in the faith!!

Your sister in Christ, Vicki

Thank you Villigant-Warrior for your service to these veterans., As a parent of a Marine veteran who was injured in Iraq and he also has PTSD, it's good to know another Christian has been brought in to help. God bless and continue to give you leading. Amen
