There are 2 main natures and 2 main seeds shown in scripture, one is of the earth and is flesh being carnally minded, and the other is from heaven above being Spirit and is spiritually minded. The ones who are of this world, and who are of the spirit of this world often speak lies by the spirit of their father the Devil working in them. How we see, hear, perceive, and understand scripture depends on what spirit we are of, and in turn it also effects the way we think and speak.
Jesus said of the hypocrites of His day, and of the Devil in John 8:44 “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” It there being the spirit of a lie.
But God the Father in Heaven has the opposite of that spirit, which is the Spirit of Truth, as God’s words are Truth. So those who speak by His Spirit speak the Truth in righteousness. So basically you have 2 witnesses as shown here in Proverbs 14:25 “A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.” Let’s confirm this concept of how one speaks by some other verses of scripture.
John the Baptist said in John 3:31 “He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.” This is how the natural man being yet carnal speaks, because he is yet flesh, earthy, and carnally minded and only knows what he knows naturally.
But those who are of God’s Spirit have His witness dwelling in them, and they speak of what they know, see and hear of Him. But the natural man cannot receive His testimony because it is spiritually discerned as shown here in 1 Corinthians 2:14 “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
Just as the world and those who are of the world cannot receive the Spirit of Truth. John 14:17 “Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” So basically you have the wisdom of this world being spoken by those who are of the spirit of this world, but you also have the wisdom that is from above spoken by those who are of God’s Spirit.
But there are those who claim to be of God and of His Spirit, but really they are of the spirit of this world which speaks lies dressed up like the Truth. And that is what is shown here in the symbolism of the false prophet image in Revelation 13:11 “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” And again, the Devil speaks lies being the father of lies.
But Jesus told His disciples they would be given another mouth, and they would speak with new tongues. Mark 16:17 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;” Luke 21:15 “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”
Paul understood many in early congregations were yet carnal, and were unable to receive the deeper spiritual things spoken by the Holy Spirit. Paul told them he could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, and that they were not able to bear it. Just as old wine skins are unable to receive and retain the new wine, the old carnally minded man is unable to receive and retain the spiritual testimony from above until he is made new man in Christ.
But those who are born of God’s spiritual seed in Christ have His witness dwelling in them. Isaiah 59:21 “As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.”
This forever covenant with the indwelling of God’s Word and Spirit is confirmed with Jesus in John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;”
So both we and they speak, and also do what we have seen of our Father, and they of their father. Jesus said John 8:38 “I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.”
Matthew 10:19-20 “But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.[SUP]20 [/SUP]For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.”
