I have read a lot of post in here and have posted alot. I have learned to eat the fruit of some and spit out the seeds. I have learned a great deal in my short stay here mostly things I never considered which makes me dig deeper into the word. Then there are other post which I have read and to be quite frank grieve my spirit. Not convict but grieve.
As I have posted before I love to fellowship with the saints and worship with them as often as I can. To get to the point of this thread I have seen swords drawn the minute one finds out a different denomination has entered the chat. Then the super duper software begins to unravel these long post to prove a point. Derailing a thread and making a train wreck out of it has been a practice which has to stop. In John 12:32 Jesus says he will draw all men unto him and as I have observed in the gospels when a fish was caught Jesus was always the one to clean it. In John 1:45-46 a question arises could any good come out of Nazareth? Jesus also was plagued with a stigma and this not being the only one ,reference to his parents, etc are all through the gospels. To judge a person from a place they are from is wrong. I personally (and I could be wrong) have never heard of any one converted by the doctrine of the church, only by the preaching of Christ. Let us not be as the church of Ephesus busy proving a point and busy doing the things of God but forgetting why and who. The gospels are th he word of God and has the power to change hearts, and this is the Lord's first desire. Billy Graham preached nothing but the simple message, Paul preached Christ only I think they are fine examples to start out with. The epistles have there place and also sound doctrine I do not dispute that. But for the love of God and the sake to draw all men preach the gospel.

Well spoken:) I have said many times before that both God and satan are deeply at work here in the forums, as you spend more time here and as you grow more you are able to discern much more whose spirit one is speaking with. The Bible discussion forum is an interesting place, it has both God and satan working greatly in it and it tests your heart every time you are attacked or mocked or rebuked every time scripture is twisted used against you or even just used way out of context just for someone to be proven right.

There are some ppl who you would be wise to listen to yet also always go to God others you know not to believe at all, take everything with a grain of salt. The thing is you can see the hearts of many Christians all over the world in the forums because ppl have a habbit of speaking their hearts online because they are behind a computer screen

It is an honour for me to witness the saints sharpening their swords of Truth :) Yes, it is disheartening to see also the personal attacks, but we may all be guilty of this to one extent or another. Sometimes I see misunderstandings and misrepresentations of what one person says, and often it seems that simply two sides of the same coin are being contended over. Aside from the personal judgments, it is all edifying from my perspective, and I am humbled and inspired to see how well the Scriptures are known by my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Yes this is true I am not innocent of becoming angry and regreting what I said later on, however the scriptures are not toys and we would be wise as to how we use them. if we misinterpret what they I can understand this but to purposely twist it or to use it to attack condemn or judge another is absolutely unacceptable. each scripture has more power in it than a nuke and his word is holy, I see the bible as not a book of scriptures or a study guide as to being a believer but rather the very heart of God himself

I agree the derailing of the threads is disheartening... I liken it to the enemy sowing weeds, via the fingers of the saints, to choke out the truth and leave the readers to decide there is too much to "weed" through to be worthwhile.

I do not seek to disparage Billy Graham (whose ministry I admired) but when he was over here the second time for a much longer campaign he actually preached on various issues related to Christian behaviour, as he said that he had learned that God blessed his ministry with conversions even on that basis, and that he felt that new converts needed such teaching.. Thus one time he preached mainly on Christian relationship within marriage. Of course he always finished off with a quick reference to the Gospel. His ministry still seemed to be equally effective. One advantage of it was that it demonstrated that Christ's ministry reached the whole man.

We can compare Paul's ministry to the Athenians.

This looks like a very old thread...but truly I had not noticed too many denominational differences amongst the majority of people posting here. And i really enjoy this bible discussion forum. It gets everything out in the open. Sometimes scripture can be baffling and puzzling!

This is unlike some other christian forums that actually do divide/separate up their forums into denominations!

I notice theres often these continual ongoing debates though and its always

Tongues vs silence or cessationism
Grace vs works
Sabbath keeping vs sunday worship
Perserverance vs osas
Some -ism vs another -ism.

A lot of this can be reconciled in scripture and you can see its actually both. People just kind of misunderstand the gospel or they arent really seeing from Gods point of view. But then we all are learning so its not like every one of is knows every single scripture all the time.

I think behaviour is a good topic to bring up how we can best love and be Christ to one another rather than try and get every single point of doctrine correct. I do like it here that most people are genuine believers, have a testimony, love the Lord and arent just theologians trying to argue who they think God is...after all God knows who He is and none of us can really truly comprehend the height, depth and breadth of just how much God loves us. While we were yet sinners...God loved us! Hows that possible, he loved us even when we were wrong about Him!

L., keep in mind always that any subject touched upon in the Bible, the Word, will always be current. Many in the forum will become impatient about seeing them, but it is a forum and they do not need to read the same subjects repeatedly, so patience is necessary, patience and love...j Of course you already know all this...
