[h=2]What gives the bible credibility?[/h]
For me, it is this: When I got saved I wanted to be sure I was doing it right. I studied the origination and veracity of all the bible versions available to me. I settled on the KJV after diligent study, then did my best to obey it to the letter as I grew in it.
When I did, God started answering my prayers, just as the bible says He will. It proves itself, if you are true to it.

Original words of God by Men moved by the Holy Ghost...!
rom 8v9 ....Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

The Bible (many books etc ) can (like GOD) prove himself !!
Think for a moment..he creates universe `s down to the smallest molecule and you dont think he can say hello !!?? come on !...
Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

MUST do it Gods way ..via the instruction manual (bible) and you get contact ..for real ..not pie in the sky find your wrong when you die nonsense .

Just like protocol to meet the president or queen etc..(and these come and go ) GOD has his ! through Jesus Christ who set the way..acts 2v38.repent..(babys cant) be baptized ( full immersion , its what the Greek word means) and recive the Holy Ghost ( Gods Part !!!) not left to your immagination or self convicton.

some say faith your saved...
Grace, if I confess with my mouth...or God so loved the world etc etc..
its the whole 9 yards not bits and pieces that suit an individual !!
not just accepting or acknowledging Jesus Christ,

Lu 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

DO IT RIGHT SEE WHAT HAPPENS !!!

mark 16v16+Acts 2v4 etc make contact NOW

I ask this question legitimately hoping for an answer. I don't mean to insult anyone in any way I'm just curious to see if they're is a solid reason. I think most will agree the bible was indeed written by human beings, of course they're said to have been used by God to reveal his word, but that's because these guys wrote that in. What leads us to think this book is true any more than something I or anyone else could write? What makes us think the koran, for example, isn't the real revelation, or book of Mormon, or scientology, or any book that claims to be the revealed word of god?
Please respond to my query rather than criticizing me; ad homunum attacks only distract from my question- not discredit it. A sufficient answer could just make a believer out of me
Because everything that has been written has come to pass.
All you need to do is look around everything testifies.
There is also physical proof that Noah's ark & Sodom and Gomorrah really did happen.

You are absolutely correct. . .the only sufficient answer is the Holy Spirit's absolutely convincing witness to one's spirit of the truth of the Scriptures.

The Holy Spirit is the only sufficient answer.

our heartfelt conviction confirmed by our desire to become obedient...and by our abhorring/detesting our 'old-man'.

[SUP]21[/SUP] Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
[SUP]22[/SUP] Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.
[SUP]23[/SUP] Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
[SUP]24[/SUP] Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.
[SUP]25[/SUP] I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.
[SUP]26[/SUP] Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.
[SUP]27[/SUP] The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.
[SUP]28[/SUP] For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.
[SUP]29[/SUP] Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion(Isaiah 41:21-29).

God gives the Bible credibility.God challenges all religions and people to prove that their religion, and the god they follow, are true,by showing the end from the beginning.

God showed us the whole history of mankind from Adam and Eve to the beast kingdom in Revelation, and other prophesies, and told us all the kingdoms that would be,which the next kingdom is the world split in to ten sections with a leader in each section, and then the man of sin will rule over the world when the 10 horns hand their power over to him.

God told us that we would be able to understand the end times because of advanced travel and technology, because we can see what the world is doing, which the beast kingdom is all nations coming together to solve their problems without the assistance of God.

God said no other religion or person would be able to do this, tell the end from the beginning, tell us things before they happen, identifying God as the one true God among all the religions that are practiced in the world, and all the gods they follow.

All through history there has been future events told before they happened,on a big scale,to cause people to believe that the God of the Bible is the one true God.

[SUP]8[/SUP] Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any(Isaiah 44:8).

[SUP]10[/SUP] Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
[SUP]11[/SUP] I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior.
[SUP]12[/SUP] I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God(Isaiah 43:10-12).

I'm having trouble finding an answer to your question, other than faith gives the Bible credibility. Once you read it, you know it's true, because your own experiences will bear it out.
