Have you ever heard this before? I refer to the op title, "Behave yourself." This has probably been directed to you, especially in your youth. This, when coming from a parent, let us sa you father, is an admonition to try your best to not get into trouble, but guess what, if your fatherloves you, when he says this, he does not expect you to always be able to be perfect, yet he does expect you to at least attempt to behave yourself. Your father loves you nto matter, but at the same time because he loves you, for your own good, he wantts the best for you, and for you not to experience any kind of difficutlty that good behavior may thwart before it is totally manifested.

If our parents who are creatures are so good to us, what do you think th eFather in Heaven is like in the same regard? He tells us to behave ourselves, but Heloves us even if we break one of his instructions to us, one or many more. He loves us enought to show us the way to be moral and good, and on top of this we are forgiven when we fall short..

If you think His laws are dead, your understanding of the law and grace is faulty. Now, if yo do not know how to use the law lawfully, this is due to a lack of the knowldedge of the teachig of Jesus Chrisst, for we do not pick and choose which laws we are to obey. Jesus has shown us how, but most do not understand this, thinking obeying God is contrary to grace. Sorry, that would be of the enemy. God bless all who love God enough to obey Him, amen.

My heavenly father probably would say it like this "I believe you will do the right thing". More affirmative and positive.

It worked on my kids.

I think you are misrepresenting those you disagree with by saying that they think obeying God is contrary to grace. It is their desire to obey God. What they see as contrary to grace is a fearful attempt to observe a list of rules and regulations.

We do not pick and choose, but Jesus Christ does. If we demand obedience to a regulation which Jesus does not demand obedience to then clearly it is US who are at fault. For example He saw the Sabbath as fulfilled by those who came to Him and found rest (Matt 11.28-30). We who are His have entered into rest. The Sabbath is therefore fulfilled. It is no longer a required regulation. What is required is that we honour Him on any suitable day..

When people finally realize that everything God has ever spoken is founded on His love for us, which envelopes His grace, then living in Him becomes reality by that grace.

Due to our transgressions, by His grace, He gave us the law for us to identify transgression and realize the absolute need for The Father's only begotten Son to come to us (by His grace), and save us daily from a certain death that our transgressions would surely bring. "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23

Without His every word taken to heart, we will not live.

"And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live." Deuteronomy 8:3

"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matthrew 4:4

"But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people." Jeremiah 31:33

The faith we have, as did Abraham, is a gift from the Father in Heaven. No one knowing the grace of God in the Blood of Jesus Christ has ever stted here that obeying the law is the way to have salvation, representing those who understand using the law lawfully, we all know we can do nothing to save our souls, our obedience is of the law according to teh teachings of Jesus Christ.

Here you are, like so many others thinking yo know so much about me or others who love to please God that we thnk we, under the law lawfully, must obey all of the laws of Deuteronomy o and Leviticus. You understand nothing in this regard, for Jesus Christ has made all pleai what laws cannot be observed.

He has also stressed the He desires mercy and not sacrifice, and that H came to forgiven not to condemn. With this in mind any elemental believer with no high degree of education knows that any law not containing mercy may be ignore. I do not pick and choose what to obey, I know first by the Holy Spirit, and second by Jesus Christ' legacy to me, His teaching.

So many here shout halleluyah, not knowing what they are saying, but those in the spirit know for the law has been engraved upon the fleshy tablets of their hearts filling them with love of Jesus Christ and a great desire to be as much like Him as possible, for after all, He is our Example.

Now if the though of obeying just a Jesus Christ obeyed, perhaps you know a new Christ, but I am obliged by the gift of faith to adhere as best I am given to be able to His Perfect Example. I will never be perfect in this age as was my SAvior, but no one, not even someone saying he is a brother in Christ will ever dissuade me from this desire. This desire comes with the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and it cannot be removed.

May God bless and keep alll who are in Jesus Christ, amen.
