2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Our Faith is a fight. Everything in this world is designed to attack that faith. Our only Hope is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 6:10-13
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Be Strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might.

This is a mystery as well, isn't it?

Romans 12:2 [SUP] [/SUP]And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

That's easier said than done, isn't it? A lot of the time we don't even realize that we are conforming to this world. The enemy can be tricky sometimes.

Any thoughts?

Good thread!

Those who followed Jesus in the first century dared to be different from the popular religions; they were persecuted because they followed a “new authority” that was not accepted by the religious or secular institutions of the day. Resistance against their freedom to follow Jesus Christ did the reverse of what their opponents expected, but even as their faith grew, there was no interest among Jesus' followers to build an institution around what they believed in Christ. Their emphasis was to enter in themselves and bring the knowledge of the Kingdom of God to as many souls as possible, to deliver the lost, heal the sick, and set the captives free. What made these souls different than everyone else was their spiritual fellowship with Christ Jesus the true Messiah. Erecting buildings was not a priority as there were plenty of buildings to meet in, and those that held faith in Christ Jesus met in homes or in synagogues and grew their Faith together in Christ Jesus. Is there a deception these days? My answer is “yes.”

2 Timothy 3:1-7
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

There is a spiritual war going on but many do not see it, nor understand it being already deceived or overcome by the flood of lies. Here is an old thread I made about the war that was prophesied to come after Jesus was caught up to heaven and the Prince of this world was cast down to earth, along with Him came the flood of persecution, lies, and spiritual warfare that would end in desolation.

In Daniel 9:26 “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Many believe this
war to be a physical war fought in a certain geographic location off somewhere in the distant future, but the spiritual war for souls has been ongoing for a long time now. The flood prophesied is the flood of persecution and lies that came out of mouth of the serpent (Prince of this world) after Jesus Christ was caught to heaven, and the woman (spiritual Israel) fled into the wilderness as shown in
Revelation 12:15 “And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

But this
war on the saints would not only be fought with carnal weapons, but also with spiritual. And it is also prophesied that many of the saints would be overcome and the beast would also prevail against them by this great flood of lies and false doctrine during this time period. And that is what the Lord meant by desolations were determined unto the end of this war, as the Red Dragon and the beast would make war with the saints, and also with the Lamb as is also written.

Prior to the Messiah coming it was all the abominations the children of Israel had done that brought forth the desolation of the temple mount and Jerusalem in 70 AD. And it is much the same with the Gentile age and the world as well; many would be corrupted, and be overcome, and lose their garments and fall away from the faith, thus making them desolate and
naked. We are shown this in
Daniel 9:27 “….and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.” (God’s wrath is poured)

Being made desolate means they would become unfruitful, or barren of good fruit. As Jesus said we could not bear fruit except we abide in Him (the vine) and in His words. And so many would be overcome by the
spirit of this world, by the cares of this world, by the tribulations of this world and would also fall away.

Just as this being made desolate by the
ways of the world also comes by deception through false teachers as also happened to the children of Israel.
Jeremiah 12:10 “Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.”

And this being made desolate is what we also see in the Harlot in
Revelation 17:16 “And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.”

So those who would fall away by being in bed with
the ways of the world would be made desolate and naked as shown here in
Revelation 3:17 “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:”

Nakedness
in scripture symbolizes having your “sins exposed” like with Adam and Eve. This falling away and nakedness is also shown here in
Revelation 16:15 “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” The sign of the kings of the earth eating the harlots flesh and drinking her blood is the opposite reflection of the saints of God eating the flesh of the Lamb and drinking his blood.

But the harlot’s flesh and blood is
fornication and idolatry through covetousness, and the immoral ways of the world “AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH”; which also brings forth the wrath of God being poured out on the desolate.
Revelation 17:2 “With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

This sign of the harlot being made desolate,
naked, burned and eaten was first shown in the false idol the children of Israel had made when Moses went up to the mount. Notice the steps involved after Moses went up to the mount, after the likeness of Jesus being caught up to heavenly mount and to God.

First the children of Israel would corrupt themselves by
false idols
Exodus 32:7 “And the Lord said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:”

They would then be made
naked for shame
Exodus 32:25 “And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies)

And then the
false idol was burned and eaten, or drank
Exodus 32:20 “And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.”

Revelation 17:15 “And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. (sea of iniquity= Red Sea)

Revelation 18:4 “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

Her
wine (blood) leads to God’s wrath.
Revelation 14:8 “And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Plagues (God’s Wrath) shall be poured out upon the desolate.

Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

1 Peter 2:11 “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;”

Luke 14:27-33 "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.[SUP]28 [/SUP]For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
[SUP]29 [/SUP]Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

[SUP]31 [/SUP]Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
[SUP]32 [/SUP]Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

[SUP]33 [/SUP]So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple."

2 Timothy 2:4

Yes our faith is a fight to keep the sound doctrine taught around the world that the evil one is corrupting with a lot of man made doctrines that allow lewdness/lawlessness.

Our fight is against those who want to corrupt the word of God by doing one of two things, watering it down to an easy-believism gospel or a hard restricting gospel shutting the doors to individuals when all has a chance to receive salvation.

Apostle Paul constantly says that by faith we hope to receive and seek for salvation through Christ.

I think that Eph 6:10 is telling us to act in God's strength , NOT our own.

Eph 6:11 exhorts us to put on the whole armor of God. Looking at Eph 6:14-17
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: KJV, we see that the armor is entirely furnished by God with no contribution from us (except that the preparation of the Gospel of peace may call upon us to study God's Word).

Rom 12:2 Exhorts us to yield ourselves to the transforming work of the Holy Spirit rather than trying to please God through our own efforts.

is this a trick question?

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Eph 1:3)

do we need to remember God in Christ has already given us all we need?
as Marc said, to rely on His strength?

we do need to take up the armor, but truth, righteousness, peace, faith and salvation are ours;
if we remember that, we'll do much better?

satin is the god of this world I mean world system and everything in his system works on peoples mind in the carnal I mean things they can see ,taste, hear, smell and feel(the five senses)

Faith pleases GOD . Believe the WORD of GOD
JESUS said the words he spoke were spirit and life.

the flesh lust against the spirit and the spirit lust against the flesh.

People must realize the real them is the reborn spirit.

Paul said he delighted in GOD after the inward man but he saw another law in his flesh warring against his mind and bringing him into captivity to the law of sin which was in his flesh.

GOD is a Spirit and must be worshiped in spirit and truth.
keep reading and meditating on the word and right believing will produce right doing.

So stop looking in the physical mirror wondering why you are not healed.
look in the spiritual mirror(the bible) where JESUS said by his stripes you are healed and believe.

Matthew 9:3-6
king James version(KJV)

[SUP]
3.)
[/SUP] And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This [man] blasphemeth.
[SUP]
4.)
[/SUP]And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
[SUP]
5.)
[/SUP] For whether is easier, to say, [Thy] sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
[SUP]
6.)
[/SUP] But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

I underlined that verse 5 so I could show how men that putting their trust in the flesh will not believe in anything they can't perceive with one or more of their 5 senses.

so JESUS asked them which is easier and it was easier for them to believe what they could see.
BUT FAITH pleases GOD.

Its not a trick question. Well, a little bit, it is.

The trick is the way we fight. Which you have shown the solution to. Be Strong in the Lord and the Power of His Might.

By Faith, in what Christ has done for us and continues to do for us.

The way that you put the helmet on is by faith. By remembering how you are saved and how you are kept saved. By the Power of His Might.

The way you put the breastplate on is by faith. You are made righteous by the Lord and the Power of His Might.

All of the armor is put on by faith in Christ.

Be Strong in the Lord and the Power of His Might!!!

Yes. I agree.

I was trying to show "how" the armor is put on by contrasting Romans 12:2 with Ephesians 6.

If we are conforming to the world then we are effectively taking off some of the armor. IMO.

Or we never put it all on in the first place... Which is a can of worms to even think about. Only God Knows.

How do we fight against conforming to the World?

2 Corinthians 3:18 [SUP] [/SUP]But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

By Beholding Christ. Your "spiritual mirror".

We need to immerse ourselves in daily prayer and Scripture reading, all the while knowing what the enemy is doing in an attempt to destroy the faith. We, the sleeping giant, have been asleep for far too long and sometimes there seems to be glimpses of us awakening, but then we go back to sleep.

I'm astonished at how far this planet has fallen, and in the last 25 years America is leading the course in its fall. I get angry and frustrated at the moral decline of America, especially seeing how our faith is under attack. I'm vocal about it, but then I think, maybe its all in God's plan. Regardless, I'm still going to fight the good fight by always proclaiming victory in Jesus.
