1 “Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Actually we are to judge all things<---by the word of God....the problem arises when we judge based upon our own opinion and or hypocritically lay a judgment down upon someone while failing to lay the same stick next to our own lives......

Amen to this. If a guy with spiked green hair and pink pants walks by, we are not to judge him on his appearance according to our own standards, but if that guy urinates on someone's lawn, then yes, we are to judge him by the Word of God.

Matthew 7

1 “Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
1 Cor. 15-16
11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? 13 God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”
6 When one of you has a grievance against another, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints? 2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we are to judge angels? How much more, then, matters pertaining to this life! 4 So if you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who have no standing in the church? 5 I say this to your shame. Can it be that there is no one among you wise enough to settle a dispute between the brothers, 6 but brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers? 7 To have lawsuits at all with one another is already a defeat for you. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? 8 But you yourselves wrong and defraud—even your own brothers!

And not just those who urinate on grass. We are to also judge those who urinate on walls.

I Kings 14:10

Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.

KJV. Of course it is. Old King James lived in a castle. He made sure that all male commoners understood it was wrong to urinate on walls.

Now how about you Tigger?

Agree. The same chapter also says that you will know them by their fruits.
Good to know some are still discerning.

Blessings to you

Indeed, we will know who is of God by their fruit.

The original point I was getting at by my very short original reply is this. Too many churches quote the first line of this chapter and use it as an admonition against ALL judging. The laity then take that message and whenever someone corrects their conduct and/or fruit, the first thing they scream out is... YOU CAN'T JUDGE ME.. and proceed to quote the first line of scripture.

God continues to explain that we are to be without hypocrisy when we use judgment in correction, rebuke, exhortation, etc.

5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

The key issue is, once we are not in hypocrisy for what we need to address to our brother in sin, then we can clearly see how to help remove the speck from our brother's eye. This requires addressing the issue at hand which to the mind of the sinning brother, is "judgment" according to the lukewarm teachings of these modern churches.

Paul even expounds on this issue in 1 Corinthians 5. He is addressing sin in the church that is defiling that church (well the entire letter is an open rebuke to the church). Specifically he addresses those who profess to be of Christ and are brothers yet allow sin to reign in their lives. One can connect this with the three admonitions if they choose to for removing leaven from the church. Anyways, Paul speaks in the last two verses about judgment.

12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”

Inside what? Outside what? Paul is referring to those inside the body of Christ and outside the body of Christ. We are asked and exhorted to examine our own fruit. We are also exhorted to help a brother who is in sin.

Furthermore, we have to understand that when it comes to judgment, we are not judging the heart or heart intent of other people. We are exhorted to judge the actions, fruit, doctrine, and what one professes to believe of those who are IN the Body of Christ by comparing it to scripture and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Once again, we do not judge the heart, (because only God knows the heart, not even ourselves).

Of course, it is a judge's job to make judgments everyday. Remember, though, that when we judge, we bring judgment on ourselves. In other words, don't judge any more than you have to.
