I think if there is a thread from 3 or 6 months ago, then we might want to bring it back to life.

But 4 or 5 years old?? Like I said, most of the people who responded are probably gone. Even the ones that are members, I usually don't remember them because they haven't posted in years.

I confess I did not look to see who bumped up those threads. I guess I don't like it when most of the page is taken up with old threads and conversations that to all intents and purposes died a peaceful death! LOL
The person doing it is from Canada, and the first 5 letters in the name are A-n-g-e-l. Honestly, I thought it was you, until I looked closer. lol

I don't know what gives, but at this moment there are 5 threads 2013 and before just on the front page of BDF, not counting the Stickies.

Angela has a bit more sense than all that, but I can see how the similar username would confuse you at a glance. :)

And of course there is the other affect- of people posting new threads who haven't looked at the forums to see if that topic has been thrashed out.

How many times has there been a new Can you lose salvation thread? Or a similarly titled one?

I still sometimes respond in these threads hoping for a change from the same old posters.. but those posters are probly trying to see a change from what I post :)

I was just looking on page 1 today, and counted

12 TWELVE

posts dating back to 2011 and 2010.

People the OP"s of those posts are likely gone and most of the responders. Just look to see if they are "guests" meaning they left the forum, or "banned" meaning they were removed.

They are not here to defend themselves. They are not here to refute or discuss.

If you like the topic in the old thread, then start a fresh, new one, instead of bringing up ancient threads, ok??

I disagree.

There is no rule against resurrecting old threads.

If the topic is relevent - then why start another and add more needless bandwidth?

Who cares if the original poster is no longer here?

An old thread can be useful and well-stated.

If someone decides to resurrect an old thread they should not reply with quote to a post but just respond to the op and then

if there is someone that is still on cc that's interested in the thread and sees a post from a member that's still present then they should respond with quote.

Otherwise just do what Angela said.:)

Now that you mention it, there ARE a lot of really old threads that have been reactivated recently.
