IMO emphasis on tongues is totally unscriptural. Forbididng the use of tongues is equally unscriptural.

Several entire denominations, whose members give ample evidence of the fruit of the Spirit, discourage tongues altogether. Other believers, who use and accept tongues, rightly leave it to the Holy Spirit to determine who will use them and do not emphasize them. Anyone who emphasizes tongues does so against what the Bible teaches!

Now how do you know that?

If you heard Japanese for the first time, you'd call it jibber jabber.

When the saints speak in the tongues of angels, you would call it jibber jabber.

When the saints utter mysteries in the spirit and the mind is unfruitful, your natural instinct is to call it as you are calling it.

To the spiritual, it is not jibber jabber. To the spiritual, they are not even thinking or listening to their own "jibber jabber".
if its truly not jibber jabber, then why do non tongue Christians not recognize it? some of the Christians may not be seeking but many of these Christians are seeking yet they dont see? "knock and the door will be open", i believe that passage with all my heart. i also believe our Lord does not want to separate Christians from other Christians unless there is a problem.

OP: YES. All "spirit-filled"...baptized in the Holy Spirit as in Acts 2, SHOULD speak/pray in tongues. It is the evidence of the gift. It is that simple.
