*sigh*.......I have something that's been worrying me for quite some time. I've gotten plenty of encouragement from the other nice people on CC, and I really appreciate it(thank you! :D ), as well as doing my own studying and meditating on the Word of God. I'm just gonna put this here: Matthew 12:33-37.

What I ask is about how we are all going to give an account for our lives, how we lived. Is it possible to be saved from the wrath and God, but still end up afterward in Hell? I believe some say that we will be lifted and transformed into our new heavenly bodies(I forget where. Mght've been Bible Study Chat Room. I could be wrong about my statements).

And what about Lukewarmness?

I just need some thoughts on this stuff. Let's try to keep this nice and civil. Just post what you think, and leave it at that.

Look...those saved will answer for the things done but the condemnation of the law has been removed as Christ has paid your debt.....The lost will answer and be found guilty because the condemnation of the law has not been removed dia Christ...Jesus said...I will never leave thee nor forsake the....salvation is eternal and secure in Christ regardless of those who erroneously teach you can lose it........!

If you are twice born.... your WORKS will be judged by the fire.... the pure works will survive and the carnal works will be destroyed. Then you will have rewards in heaven for the pure works... the service you rendered God during this lifetime.
Does this help?

I think telling people that "once saved always saved" truly does have a negative effect on the growth of people. It gives a bad idea that no matter what you do, it's okay. And that is not cool at all. Sins are not okay, and need to be repented of. So let's repent!

The proper approach is to advise people that "Hey, you are alive now, so repent, and let's move on!" Mercy is here. Grace is here. Love is here.

But to advise people who are feeling guilty over their transgressions, that all is okay because they cannot lose their salvation, is horrible wisdom, and not in agreement with anything in the New Testament.

That passage wasn't spoken to his disciples and followers but to those who were opposing Him.

But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this man casts out demons." Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand. etc etc (read on)

We do give an account to how we live. If we have been converted.. given eternal life.. then all that is being tried is what we did after conversion.. how we served Jesus. Hell is not being put into the formula. Why?

John 5:24.. 3:16... 3:36

What does happen is if we have had some bad works.. it gets burned up.. no rewards from that. That is the judgment from God for SAVED people. Good works.. become things that are stored up as treasures in heaven. (Note the good works are all about Jesus.. not self-righteousness.)

Eternal damnation is for people who have continually rejected conversion from the Holy Spirit their whole lives.

Oh yeah.. and as usual.. the poster who believes salvation can be lossed completely misses the point of OSAS.

Knowing OSAS gives security.. peace.. comfort.. hope from Jesus. That is what it does for me. As soon as I learned it-- I felt security and peace etc.. which led to me stopping a number of bad habits-- swearing.. nail biting.. extreme anxiety.

Why is it always the conclusion when someone teaches OSAS that ' oh now I will just do whatever I want'

You wouldn't do that with someone who saved you from drowning in ocean.. I am sure.. so why associate it with OSAS?

peace

Thanks for your help! I really appreciate this.

Would you believe me if I said I read about what you mentioned? It's weird, like, I know what it meant, but still filled with a need for "confirmation" or something. I dunno, I just happen to be like that. I think it's kinda lame of me.

On the contrary, it is displaying prudence and intelligence.
Read Acts 17:11.

Ah! I see. Thanks, again!

11 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

You might be better served to go back to some basics. Your questions seem to be a little disorganized.

Do you believe in Jesus? Well, WHAT do you believe about Him? Specifically. It's a serious question. There is really only one thing you need to believe about Jesus..... and it is not that He was raised from the dead. And if you get that belief settled, several other things begin to fall into place.

Whaaaattt! If you believe that God has raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved! SO.....not real sure where you get what you get from the bible...........the cornerstone of the salvation message is Jesus being raised from the dead.

No, your belief has to be that His being raised from the dead somehow affected YOU, or it is no more than just an interesting fact.

yeah...that's good!

made me think of this verse:

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11

It even goes beyond what I mentioned above. You have to believe that by dying (before He was raised), He also did something that somehow affects YOU.

2416, this is addressed to you, so, do you know what He might have done?

Are you kidding?? What is the gospel? That Jesus died for our sins and was raised on the third day. If he was not raised, our faith is in vain!

"And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain." 1 Cor. 15:14

"And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins." 1 Cor. 15:17

"12 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied." 1 Cor. 15:12-19

Willie, you really need to examine your heretical beliefs in light of the Bible. Maybe reading it would help? You are very, very mixed up about what it means to be a Christian! The only one I can see who is "disorganized" or highly confused is you, Willie!

I have a hard time with his beliefs as I can think of numerous scriptures off of the top of my head that are anchored in the resurrection.....

Raised for our justification
Belief in his resurrection = salvation
Faith in vain if we don't believe in his resurrection
Immersed into his resurrection
Resurrected a new creation in Christ Jesus
Being raised with him in like figure by immersion

Etc.........As a matter of fact the death and burial of Christ means nothing without his resurrection which is the cornerstone of the Christian belief system!

Look Willy, the statement you made in post 12 is unbiblical...I did read and I did think...that is not what the bible teaches as the bible makes it clear you have to believe in the resurrection of Christ to obtain salvation...so...instead of speaking in riddles and questions and vague statements why not enlighten us all with your wisdom bro.......
