Just a thought I was pondering, thought I'd share it with you...

The bible says the first will be last, and the last will be first. Those who insist on being first on the earth will be judged last. So not only will they have to wait a long time to find out their fate, the closer they are to being last, the greater the chance they will not make it. Can you imagine their impatience and their panic? How long will the judgement take? Think about it, think how long it takes you to do or to say something. Now imagine how long it takes to annualize every consideration about it, even how it pertains to others. A car accident happens in seconds, but going over every aspect of it in court can take hours, days, months, even years if someone was killed.

Now imagine how long it is going to take to judge every word, deed, and intension of every soul who ever lived on the earth from creation to judgement day. Much, much longer than it took to live out. It's not like God don't have the time, He has eternity, but I would not want to be last in that line.

After thinking about this as you suggest in your OP, the first thought that came to my mind was that time won’t be as it is now, so waiting for a long, long time to be judged didn’t make a notable impression on me.
However, I thought about it in terms of being “last in that line.” It sounds like you are making the suggestion for Christians to just live their lives out quietly, not trying to teach or work for the Lord, etc. That way they would not be in danger of being last in line at judgment since they were last on earth.

So, as I pondered that, the parable of the nobleman who went away and left his servants in charge of certain amounts of money came to mind. Long ago I learned that the Bible is filled with principles and that things like seed being planted on various types of ground was a story to teach the way man’s heart can be, the seed being the Word of God, and so on. In this case of the nobleman and his money, the principle holds true with money but also, and I believe, more importantly, the message of the gospel and spiritual gifts/abilities.

Granted, many professing Christians are very arrogant and egotistical about their own belief that they are fantastic teachers of the Word, and they probably fit into that category of being first (at least they think so!) on earth and having a place near the back of the line on judgment day. But it is the ordinary, not-so-egotistical Christian I see in the place of each of the servants in the parable. Most believers will agree that God gives each of us things to do, “missions” to accomplish, be they more noticeable like gifts of healing or quietly caring for others as He brings them into our lives. (See Matthew 25.) The obvious question that must be answered by each individual is: what am I going to do with what God has given me, as the nobleman gave to his servants to take care of while he was gone? Neglecting the directive/gift/mission given by God is not an option.

Indeed. Time to God is like opening a book with the first and last chapters exposed.

Time was created for our benefit - not God's - He's timeless.

And then realize God created time and space, and we get eternity, therefore it is likely time really isn't an issue. lol

Jesus called it "Judgement Day." Not Judgement Year, or Decade, or Century. I kind of figure it's all happening at once, if once is accurate since even that gives something to the substance called time.

A different angle for mind blowing! :D

Thank God He won't have to pull out all my dirty laundry. My sins are forgiven and forgotten. Probably lose some rewards but the sin issue was taken care of at Calvary.
