Many who read this will not believe it,and that is what satan wants you to do,so he can infiltrate your lives undetected.

Job 2:7 satan oppressed Job with boils,God allowed it,and satan did it
Acts 10:38 Who did Jesus heal? All who were oppressed by satan. satan can oppress you physically, mentally, and materially, here I believe it is physical, because of all the healings Jesus was perfroming.

Mark 5:25-26 for 12 years satan had her in bondage
medical science could do nothing for her,but Jesus could and did 27-29

Luke 13:11,12-13,16 who had the woman bound for
18 years?
There are many thousands of christians physically
and mentally bound by satan, who dont know it is him,or would not believe it anyway. So they go to the medicine man, instead of the SON of man,and they can do nothing, just like they could do nothing for the woman with the issue of blood in mark. So
they say, well I will just have to live with it,and live with it they do.

There 4 avenues that satan uses to oppress christians.
1. Sin
alcohol,drug useage,that includes nicotene
anger, lying,lust,stealing,etc. etc.
2.Emotioal,and traumatic crisis
maybe you witnessed your parents being murded
you are an athlete, run track,in a car accident and

lost both legs
3.Doubt and unbelief
You dont believe Gods Word
indiffernce towards spiritual things
You doubt Gods promises
4.Occult involvement
This the main avenue that satan uses to oppress
christians. Occult,participation with
fortunetelling,magic practices,spiritism,false
religious cults and teachings, helloween,and
other secular holidays, playing with occult games
etc,etc.etc.

If only just one person reads this post, and is set free from satanic oppression,Praise The Lord Jesus!!

If I understand you right, I think your view of healing is off. God doesn't intend for every believer to have healing on earth.

I completely agree with you James. And YES, God did intend for every believer to have healing if that is what they desire.

A lot of illness can be and are often caused by various forms of stress and having to tolerate stress over long periods of time. It makes sense that a person who has personally lived under the influence of an unclean spirit or has lived in an absusive enviroment with someone under the influence of an unclean spirit is going to be stressed out to the max. This kind of oppression can be just as powerful as an actual possession. Just look at all the folks today who suffer from various forms of mental illness, the most common being depression, fear and anxiety, due to stressful living conditions, especially during childhood when the brain was still in development. These people grow up to live very disfunctional lives and in turn influence the lives of others thus causing a generational cycle of pain and suffering.

Go ask Paul if he wanted the thorn from his flesh removed, which never was.

The Holy Spirit said through James that if we resist the devil he will flee from us. Try that the next time you have a kidney stone!

The idea that all illness is a direct oppression by Satan himself is just plain ridiculous. Job's situation was very specific and was actually negotiated between God and Satan. It is a big stretch to extrapolate that onto all mankind.

It amazes me that so many want to give Satan so much power. He is indeed powerful but we have the power to resist. Scripture states that "greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world."

Illness is an unfortunate side effect of living in a fallen world. Has Satan used it for his ends, yes (Job). Does he have freedom to use such at will, no. Has God used it for his ends, yes.

Disease is opportunistic. When a persons has not taken good care of himself nutritionally, etc. he is more susceptible to the effects of viruses, bacteria, etc. This is why two people can be exposed to the same "bugs" and only one gets sick.

The only time that ALL disease will be overcome is in the resurrection.

Amen, rightly spoken to the modern "healing in the atonement" heresy.

There's basically four possible causes or reasons for illness: God (God's will, for His glory, for punishment, for death etc) , satan (demonic oppression, etc), ourselves (poor choices, bad habits, smoking, excessive drinking, stress etc), our environment (things beyond our control, genetics, pollution etc).

lol. By the way if there's four causes of illness, only the first to me seems to be one which God would not heal unless He changed His will about it. That means we should see about a 75% success rate in healing. Interestingly, going by books I've read on the subject, the sucess rate for God's healing when done properly is more like 80%, i.e. in a group of 10, 8 people healed, 2 not. I think it's valid to say it is more often the case that it is God's will to heal, than not. Remember even Paul prayed three times asking God to remove it, until God told him no. That shows faith and persistence. So I think we should always start with the assumption that it is God's will to heal, have faith and persist, like Paul did.

I think the first one is where I fall in with Crohn's... It was the affliction He sent to break my will and has since opened doors to ministering to other people with similar problems. I would love to be healed, but if not, I'll survive just fine.

So it seems you've already found your answer like Paul did. God bless you bro.
I don't know that scripture tells us whether Paul ever did get over his "messenger"...but I really like Matthew Henry's notes on that passage about Paul and his infirmity I hope it encourages you as it did me:

2Co 12:7-10
The apostle gives an account of the method God took to keep him humble, and to prevent his being lifted up above measure, on account of the visions and revelations he had. We are not told what this thorn in the flesh was, whether some great trouble, or some great temptation. But God often brings this good out of evil, that the reproaches of our enemies help to hide pride from us. If God loves us, he will keep us from being exalted above measure; and spiritual burdens are ordered to cure spiritual pride. This thorn in the flesh is said to be a messenger of Satan which he sent for evil; but God designed it, and overruled it for good. Prayer is a salve for every sore, a remedy for every malady; and when we are afflicted with thorns in the flesh, we should give ourselves to prayer. If an answer be not given to the first prayer, nor to the second, we are to continue praying. Troubles are sent to teach us to pray; and are continued, to teach us to continue instant in prayer. Though God accepts the prayer of faith, yet he does not always give what is asked for: as he sometimes grants in wrath, so he sometimes denies in love. When God does not take away our troubles and temptations, yet, if he gives grace enough for us, we have no reason to complain. Grace signifies the good-will of God towards us, and that is enough to enlighten and enliven us, sufficient to strengthen and comfort in all afflictions and distresses. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Thus his grace is manifested and magnified. When we are weak in ourselves, then we are strong in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; when we feel that we are weak in ourselves, then we go to Christ, receive strength from him, and enjoy most the supplies of Divine strength and grace.

I completely agree with Mahagony and Baptist. It is not biblical, indeed it is dangerous, to teach that all sickness is from Satan, and that with enough faith *everything* will be healed this side of heaven.

How can I say it is not biblical? Take a look at Timothy and his stomach trouble- did Paul tell him to cast out a spirit? No, he said drink some wine!(1Tim. 5:23) How about the man who was born blind? When they asked Jesus if it was the man's sin or his parent's sin- Jesus said NEITHER- this happened for God's glory. (John 9:1)

To those who say healing always happens this side of heaven (with enough faith)- look at Lazarus. He loved Jesus, if he died because he didn't have enough faith, then why didn't Jesus say so? We NEVER hear Jesus rebuke Laz. for not having enough faith. Instead Jesus tells his disciples He is GLAD He wasn't there when Laz. was sick and died, because He knew He was going to raise him from the dead. It was on the other side of death that Jesus stepped in. Once again He shows us that our ways are not His ways.(John 11:1-57)

Now a word about why this teaching is so dangerous...
When those who are sick hear it, those who are not afflicted by spirits, they do everything they are told- repent, rebuke, speak scripture- and soon they begin to wonder why they are still sick. They begin to think they don't have the faith to be healed or are sinning in some way. They step into line with wrong thinking, blame themselves and soon they take on false condemnation for their illness. This is destructive to a person's faith.

This makes me so mad, because these people who are already suffering, who are already losing so much, are being burdened by the very people who should be helping them to bear their pain!

In fact it reminds me of Luke 11:46 when Jesus said, "And you experts in the Law, woe to you, because you load people down with heavy burdens they can hardly carry, and yourselves will not life one finger to help them. "

First and foremost we are to love one another! Walk beside them, help them find ways to ease their pain, grieve their loss with them- sit in the darkness next to them and just be quiet- this says love. ( Galatians 6:2)

And if we believe that they are to be healed then we should be on our knees before God, asking Him to work it out, not hitting them over the head with our theology. Lest, in the end, our friends must ask God to forgive us! Like Job had to ask God to forgive those who falsely condemned him. (Job 42:8)

Be very careful how you treat those who struggle with illness and what you say to them. It is not a light matter.

Certaintly, I'd say God being unwilling to heal a person is rare. It's skeptical and doubtful people who wave the "Paul didn't get healed" thing about all the time, failing to realise that we're not all apostle Paul's having great revelations like him that require a thorn in our flesh, and that Jesus never turned anyone away who came to Him in faith and persistence.

It should be noted that there was no sickness, disease or death in the original paradise, garden of Eden.
Nor will there be any sickness, disease or death at the end of the book of Revelation. The reason these are absent is because there was/is no sin.
Sickness, disease and death are the consequences of that SIN nature.
Satan is the author of all these.
THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT EVERY TIME A PERSON IS SICK THAT THEY ARE POSSESSED WITH SOME KIND OF DEVIL SPIRIT. THAT IS NOT TRUE.
But devil spirits are responsible for alot of diseases..........and doctors do not believe in devil spirts, nor do most people
When people come to be ministered to for healing, it is the manifestation of "discerning of spirits" which is put into operation to determine if the cause is a devil spirit. It may or may not be. You do not guess....God shows you, or you do not know.
The Adversary is still the author of sickness, disease, and he holds the power of death.
The True God never sends sickness or disease into anyone's life.

Eaglehart what traslation of the Bible are you using? Because my KJV and NIV mention nothing about satan holding her in bondage in this verse. Jesus does call it a plague in Mark 5:34 (KJV).

I'm sorry didn't have the time to read everyones post; however I agree with what I did get to read.
