This isn't an invitation to discuss the pros/cons and what-fors of tongues. I'm just looking to get a headcount on how many do and how many don't, regardless of the reasoning. There are already plenty of other threads in which to continue the debate. This one is merely to take a census.

I speak fluent English, (unless I'm tired.) I'm also fluent in reading and typing typos. And, I can do a little bit of ASL. (I used to be better, but haven't signed since the 70's, and it's not like riding a bike. lol) Does that make me a polyglot?
LOL Et tu? (Latin for "you too.") I was secretary of the Spanish Club in college, but only because most of my friends were Hispanic or had an obsession with Spain. But I could get the gist of the conversation when they got all excited and forgot I couldn't speak Spanish. Because of club activities, I got to know all the Spanish professors. (All but one were kicked out of Cuba when Castro took over. The other one? Portuguese? Never did understand him, but he thought my pot was incense the day he came over without knocking first. lol) So I thought I'd take first year Spanish. Signs of failure hit when I couldn't pronounce my professor's name in his language or say the vowels right. But he gave me a C for effort. He knew I really wanted to get it. I just don't get languages. (And "et tu" is the only thing I can pronounce in Latin after three years of that too. I can write it. Can't speak it. lol)
That would be an interesting poll. Are tongue-talkers more apt to have been good at foreign language -- in school or after school? Maybe it's connected, because I have such a bad ear for language, I have trouble understanding some English accents and some American accents.
