If you knew you had one week to live, what would be different in your life with God?

Would you be walking the more straight and narrow?

Would you still be continuing to live life as if you were floating along?

Would you actually strive to stop sinning more and more and live righteously in things you want to do for God?

This question applies to me just as does to everyone else here. It is a reality check. Even for me. So I am not above my own question (or questions). What I am saying is that we all need to examine ourselves more and ask God to help us to live more for Him.

Now, the question is: What would you be doing?

Living for the LORD in all you do in complete dedication in that last week?

Or would you be putting on one of those squirrel outfits so as to fly down the side of a mountain?

Or would it be just you and your family having family time only?

Granted, I am not saying there is not a time and place for everything like Ecclesiastes talks about, but what is the normal every day way we are living? What are we in complete dedication to day in and day out?

Anyways, I am wishing nothing but good things from the LORD Jesus Christ upon everyone here.
May His love shine upon you and give you warmth in your heart and life.

I think about this because my life for the LORD was more intense for God when I first got saved back in 1992. Oh, I am still doing things for the LORD (and I still love Him so very much), and strive always to live righteously in all I do. But I am talking about the passion. You know that passion you felt when you first accepted God? That love affair that was so intense that you had to absolutely let everyone know about Jesus.

So I am calling upon all believers today. Do you want that passion of love that you had in the beginning with God again? I know that it is something that each of us should pray for (Leading us more and more away from any sin and more in more in the righteousness of Christ that flows from within us).

So pray today. For I know I will be praying. I will be praying for that passion like it was in the beginning.

It's funny you just posted this, because I was just thinking this. I've been going through some things even though I am involved with two different ministries, so I don't understand why I keep doing the things I do when I know they're bad. It reminds me when Paul says I do the things I don't want to do, and don't do the things I do want to do. I feel it's the Holy Spirit convicting me afterwards. I'm just glad tomorrow is the start of a new week, as I feel it can be a new start with God if that makes any sense. I don't know if it does. But I'm glad I came across something like this, so I want to thank you Jason.

If you think about this question and find things you would change then you should really think about how you are living now. If you are living according to God's Word then you shouldn't have to change anything.

Well, I don't believe in coincidences. God does everything for a reason and has a greater purpose and plan for our lives than we are aware of. Hence, the phrase: God works in mysterious ways.

As for the bulk of Romans 7: Well, you may know my opinion on Romans 7 (and probably disagree). But I think Paul was one of the rare saints (who lived very righteously before God unlike most saints - Hence why he corrected many in the church who were disobedient). I believe the bulk of Romans 7 is Paul talking from his perspective when he was a Jew who obeyed the Law of Moses. At the end of Romans 7 and Romans 8 is when he talks from his perspective as a Christian. For Romans 7:14 says he a sold under sin and in Romans 8:2 he says he is free from sin. Two different perspectives. One is either sold under sin or...... they are free from sin. It cannot be both. For those who are sold under sin are those who are still under the Law of Moses or trying to save themselves by an outward set of rules alone without the grace of Jesus Christ. For obedience is merely the fruit of God living in a person.

For the next time you read Romans 7, one thing you will notice is that it is like a build up TO..... Jesus Christ in being the solution to His struggle. For he thanks Jesus Christ. Why thank Him if nothing has changed from his old life?

Um, there are different levels of rewards for believers. It is not about the status quo. It's about giving your entire heart and life to Christ in ways that you did not think of. It's about getting back to the time when you first accepted Him and were on extreme fire for the LORD. For did you ever experience that? That strong passion in the beginning? Or has nothing really changed from the beginning? Has nothing really changed from your old life and your new life?

In all honesty I would be so excited because I can finally be with him, I would be praising him with such joy I would be listing all the things we are going to do together I would go to sleep with tears of love knowing that he will finally be mine that I will finally be in his arms again I would wake up in the morning and see life in a completely new way. The joy and the happiness would be overwhelming

It really is a good question though as it should get us thinking about how we "are living" now. We should live every day for God as though it is our last. We should be "putting our lives under the microscope" according to God's Word. Are we living the greatest commandment? Are we living the "Great commission"? Yeah it really is a good question and should make us really think about "how we are living now".

This is actually the first post where I would agree with you. It is good to be joyous and happy in the LORD. Good response, although I would be doing other things in addition to that.

In the trenches as a worker of God I can still let the cost of service distract me. But, the second I lean off center, God reassures me that I am of no worth, so I am not under attack. He goes on to love me in a special way thru the Spirit of worship and He claims me to Himself in that moment, telling me, "You are of no worth, but you are of great value to me personally, and I want you to do things for me, for I trust you, and I love you...and I commission you. So suck it up, Slave [Dan] my Son, for I am with you to the ends of the earth, the pain you feel is not yours to bear, both in the affairs of mens contention over my Word, nor over the attack of Satan thru mens demeanor." After those moments you would think I would get better at accepting the cost of service for the Lord, and begin to stop falling into the hurt of others and myself in such activities, And you would be absolutely right! Do I have human influences, yes....but they are not my way any longer no matter how loud the voice of human reason speaks. The Gospel of God is my life now not common sense.

" God keep me in this place-- now, later today, tonight, and thru the night and into the next day and into the next week, month, year, give me all of you Father, one day at a time ...and the death of me , let it be framed very close for me to see ...In Jesus name ...Amen!" Nobody is oblgated to answer anything. Besides, it is a question (or questions) to also get people to think and reflect on their own life. If they want to reply, then let the goodness of God shine. If they do not want to reply let the goodness of God work in their own life. Jesus did not answer questions always. So I am under no obligation to answer questions by others if I feel they would not respond well to my answer.

Anyways, may the Lord's peace be upon you.

I am not saying "you" as in just "you" I am using the word "you" as including me also. If you cannot see what I am truly saying then YOU need to learn to look at YOU not just everyone else. You put everyone "under the microscope" but refuse to look at yourself. Well news flash for ya Jason...I am looking at me not you. You look at yourself and let God work on others. You worry about "your" "rewards" I'll worry about glorifying God in my own life. My rewards mean nothing too me if God is not first in my life. My reward is being with Christ for eternity. If Jesus decides to "give" me something else then I have no say in it. If YOU are actually concerned with "rewards" then YOU are following Christ for the wrong reasons.
