Something I've been wondering. So many claim demon activities over just about everything. I have no idea how big heaven will be, nor how many angels there are, but there were 1/3rd more than there are. Lucifer took them with him, (or God kicked them out on their butts.)

So there are 7.2 billion people on earth now. Think there's enough for everyone?

Demons aren't omni. Unknown if they die now that they're in a fallen state. They obviously weren't the brightest bulbs in the box, or they wouldn't have rebelled. But how dumb are they?

Dumb enough to tempt Jesus. Do you think they're smart enough to know they already lost? Do you think they're after those that already won? Or would they be more likely to go after the ones who have Godly potential? Why bother God's kids? Got to know they can't win. Maybe tares? Maybe the ones on rocky soil?

Do they have a game plan?

I know. The Bible doesn't talk too much about them, but sometimes I like to blame them because I can't be this dumb. Surely I can read ten verses without my mind wandering off. How hard can that be? But, no, my mind wanders. Can't be me, right?

But then I notice I do the same thing when reading a Reader's Digest joke, so maybe it is me.

So, how many demons are they? Do you think they're like guardian angels? One per person?

I just see them being blamed for everything evil, but I know God knows Man's heart is on evil continually anyway do why bother? (If you're wondering, that's the only one I can prove Biblically. Gen. 6:5.)

So what's it with blaming those losers over every little thing?

(Excuse me. This isn't what kept me up tonight, but it's 5:30 AM and I'm still up, so my mind is buzzing... and rambling. No. I don't drink caffeine. Why do you ask? lol)

Anybody know anything more about them than I do? I'm so lost I'm not even sure Morningstar is Lucifer. I'm not much for spending time thinking focusing on them, quite as much as I'm interested in why others do. What's to gain?

I don't even think about them or focus on them. Focus needs to be on the One who paid the price and delivered us. I'm aware there are demons but they probably have much less power and ability than most people give them credit for.

I think most of our problems come from, lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. There are however a sufficient number of demons to kink up the works but they only have power in areas you give them. You cross a line and another is drawn a bit farther toward complete demonic control. Cross too many lines and you will find yourself doing things you never believed possible.

How ever many there are one third fell from heaven so God has twice as many angels. We have two good angels to every fallen angel.

Legion said they are many. Certainly there are more than enough to create strive and misery upon the face of the earth. But not so many that Christ could not defeat them all at the cross.

Yes, and Christ delivered us from the power of darkness at the cross. And it is by faith that every Christian must receive this truth. It is your shield of faith that wards off the "fiery darts" of the evil one. You must believe that you, as being in Christ, are no longer at their power. And being in Christ, you are covered by His blood which cleanses us continually of all unrighteousness.

Now, our flesh we have to deal with daily. Ourselves. Self-righteousness, self-pity, self confidence, self sufficiency, self admiration, self love, satisfying self and promoting self.

God is said to live inside us. The kingdom of God is within us. Jesus stands at the door and knocks... in like manner it could be said that the forces of wickedness also inhabit us, as was pointed out with Scripture re: the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Sometimes I equate that force of wickedness with our reptilian brain stem (the serpent), the self-protecting impulse of fear-based fight or flight juxtaposed against the momentous need to find a way to embrace love no matter how jarringly and disappointingly painful. The higher brain functions that propel a collective raising of individual personal consciousness pitted against selfish self seeking that pursues sinful pleasure despite the fact it is so destructive to ourselves and others. The psyche is a fascinating subject. Scripture tells us that Satan knows his time is short. The game plan is to deceive us, to destroy us by turning us away from that which is good. There is only one source of good.

Me doing that? Or the devil making me do that? Kind of what I'm trying to figure out (on half a brain. lol)

"Many." Interesting word. "Many dollars has to be more than three dollars, but if I'm struck by lightning "many" times, I really hope it's not three.

That and demons lie. Taking him at his word is something like trusting a used-car salesman. It's possible he's telling the truth. Equally possible he's not. lol

You don't think people can keep him in business even if he were alone? Not our fault, but his?

Sounds like you lean closer to what I believe -- we're selfish enough that we could make this mess without the help of demons. And, as long as we keep our focus on God, he can be our offense for demons. Am I guessing right?

This really impressed me, until my brain sizzled halfway through it. Not saying it's not entirely impressive. I'm saying I'll have to come back to this when my brain returns to get it all. lol

I am glad you said that, because I almost did not post it even after typing it out... my thoughts are not always in accord with what is written, and I try to steer clear of wool gathering here LOL. But there does seem to be a cumulative increase in knowledge and awareness as humanity advances through the ages, even if individually we are all scrambling to catch up. On the other hand Scripture says He will confound the wise, so I do not think we will ultimately find any fully satisfying answers outside of Him, certainly it could be seen as a vain philosophy, and yet at the same time we all do have our own demons that bedevil us. Oddly enough, perhaps not so surprisingly, love has been my biggest incentive and the harshest punisher. It is the highest ideal against which everything else is measured and weighed. I would say it is the organizing principle of progress, and the crux of consciousness. God is love. It is toward Him we move.

It says in 2 Peter 2 that proud and arrogant people have the audacity to scoff and accuse supernatural beings (demons) without so much as trembling. But the angels, who are far greater in power and strength, do not even dare to bring from the Lord a charge of blasphemy against those supernatural beings.

And in Jude 1:9 it tells us not to rile up supernatural rulers by making accusations against them. Even Michael the Archangel didn't converse with the devil or bring up any accusations against him but instead said, "The Lord rebuke you."

In other words, it's not up for discussion. If the angels of God don't dialogue with the devil or make accusations against him, we shouldn't either.

We're to keep our eyes only on Jesus and follow Him.
