Posts that trouble me....

1. Jesus fulfilled the law, so I don't have to.
2. "threads that promote hatred against Israel and conspiracy theories and vasectomies!" aspen
3. The Law is a barrier to God
4. Jesus didn't mention the Sabbath at Matthew 19:18-19 so I don't have to observe the Sabbath.
5. Every possible excuse given for not following God's commands
6. all forms of evil speech: gossip, rumors, libel, presenting others in a negative light and hiding behind "it's true!", ad hominem attacks
7. Muslims worship Satan.
8. People should not be condemned for getting or having tattoos but homosexuals have done what is detestable.

I expect posts defending the belief in not following the Law. *shrug* I'm not here to condemn people for not following the Law. Following the Law is not necessary for salvation. I do, however believe it is evidence of salvation. I choose to defend the Law as God's holy, righteous and good commandments. I believe it is good doctrine and should not be forsaken. And it troubles, no... saddens... me that people would say such things as 1, 3, 4 and 5 listed above.

Where is love? Where is love for God by following His laws? Where is love for our neighbors by treating others as we would wish to be treated? Where is respect for people of different backgrounds and faiths? Where is honor for God when we attack and insult others and spread hatred? That is not how you show people that you are Christ's followers. People will know you are his by the love you show. Only to each other? On the contrary, as it is said:
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:46-58

B'shalom (in peace)
