Post a quote from a pastor, evangelist, or biblical scholar that inspires you or makes you think. Comments on what the quote means for you. Feel free to comment on other quotes/comments.

"Truth without enthusiasm, morality without emotion,
ritual without soul, are things Christ unsparingly condemned.
Destitute of fire, they are nothing more than a godless philosophy, an ethical system, and a superstition." Samuel Chadwick

This quote inspires me to seek a deeper committment to all aspects of my walk with Christ. We need a Holy fire burning in each of us.

Well the one that effected me the most was more about special effects.
Our pastor, a very gental and kind man that always spoke of the love of Jesus, gave a sermon one night.
It was the first time he ever got serious about judgement.
Just as he delivered his final words: and the refusal of Christ is death!: A huge flash and sudden boom of thunder hit right above our church.
We accused him of having a special in with God for some time after, but no one ever forgot that sermon.
Smiles and God bless, pickles

Just because a mouse lives in a cookie jar, doesn't make him a cookie.
Corrie ten Boom
also: some people would rather poise than pray.

Corrie Ten Boom had a way with words! A great contender for the faith!

None are more cognizant of imperfection and failure than ourselves; and, after all we have done, there is still much left for others to do.
We do not exhaust the book; and may, after all, have only laid out a road on which others may follow with far greater success. We claim only one thing - an earnest desire to believe God; and to receive what He has said, regardless alike of the praise of man or the fear of man; and quite apart from all traditional beliefs or interpretations.
May the Lord own and use and bless our efforts for His own Glory and the good of His people.E.W. Bullinger
