Have you ever been going through something or been praying or thinking of something and you read or hear a certain scripture that seems as if it was just for you because it's exactly what you have been thinking about? Post the times of that amazing moment here:) Mine happened just this morning I was going on a walk as I usually do to be with God and I always tell him how I seek him with a hungry heart and I am going to find him no matter what, I say this to him in an endearing and loving way and I can almost sometimes hear him laugh or maybe it's just my imagination lol but anyways as I said this soon after my radio spoke of a scripture Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Often happens to me, when trying to read a particular verse from Paul ... attempting to read something into English from the Greek, and ...Lo!... something clicks, some mental picture plays in 3D on the back screen of my mind. I just recently tried to
share such a moment in a topic thread called "roofed over," but of course, you really cant share such things, they're just something for you, individually. A little gift, to remind us that He's always there, watching over us.

I have! Though sadly I can't think of a specific circumstance...

I can not pinpoint just one time as this happens quite often, as I will have a question on a subject pertaining to life by God's word.

I could be out in the field working, fishing at the pond, or even just driving down the road and I will hear the Holy Spirit tell me to go look at a certain spot in the bible, or when I sit down I will pick up and open the bible and start reading and the page would be exactly the answer I asked for.

God is wonderful !!!

Most of my Wow scriptures have stuck with me. I am no good at memorizing them, but I remember where they are:
Gen. 6:5, John 3:16-21 (especially 19-21. Especially, especially 21), John 6:35-40, and Romans 8:28.

Pretty much why I repeat them so often on here. They wowed me. They still do.

Hi Blain! Long time no see.

Isn't it awesome when God speaks to us like that. Often I will have a conversation with someone and various things will be discussed. I will hear myself say something in common speech, not King James English, not recognizing the Biblical truth behind it because of using my own words. Later I will open my Bible and the scripture that says it better than me will be right in front of my face. It happens too often to be just coincidence: it is confirmation by the Holy Spirit, so PRAISE GOD for that!!!! Amen!

Several months ago Exodus 23:20-22 was a "WOW" moment for me because of John 10:1-7.

a really good subject, Blain.....

the honesty of the answers are so moving and refreshing.....

a few years back, when I realized about this scripture, 'For the Word of God is Living and Powerful', and
one related to it, 'My Words are Spirit and they are Life'....this was a powerful step towards a much
deeper understanding....

when we start to feel His Words and start to realize that they are pertinent to our very existence,
it's just over-whelming that they are indeed ALIVE and they relate to our every=day=circumstances.
the 'principles-laws-statutes', they will be applicable to us all at some time, in some way in our walk.....
it is truly the Beauty of Holiness....my wife and I cling to our Saviour's Words....
with all of our hearts, souls, and minds....

when we embrace the in-filling of our Father's Words, they nurture us and we build our Faith upon them
for the rest of our lives.

I'm not sure if this qualifies or not, but here was one of my very first "WOW!" moments:

When I first got saved 27 years ago, I immediately had an insatiable desire for the Word of God. IOW, as in the case of the newborn babe whom Peter described, I earnestly desired the sincere milk of God's Word as if I couldn't live without it. Of course, the natural outflow of that was that I had an earnest desire to speak of Christ and His Word to others, but that wasn't going over too well...and especially not with the "Christians" from my church. I was constantly criticized, nay, condemned, for simply wanting to talk about Christ. It was as if that every time that I simply mentioned something that He said, without even any commentary of my own, somebody or somebodies got extremely angry with me. I remember lying on my living room floor at home one day, totally crushed and discouraged as if there was something wrong with me, when I heard the Lord say the following to me:

"Out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword." (Revelation 1:16)

I had to look it up to see where it was in the Bible and then God took me through several other passages along the very same lines. IOW, God showed me, early on in my Christian walk, that if I was going to speak the Word of God to people or if I was going to have the same sort of "two-edged sword" in my mouth as Jesus had in His, then I should expect the same types of responses that He got. Some people were "cut in their hearts" by this "two-edged sword" and it led them to repentance. Others were "cut in their hearts" by this "two-edged sword" and wanted to kill Him. Anyhow, my "WOW!" moment was in that God was showing me that I needed to be faithful in speaking His Word regardless of how others responded to the same and I've hopefully remained faithful to the same over the years.

Amen! How wonderful that the word becomes something beyond our simple human understanding, and reaches directly into our experience through the power of God! How could we live any more without Him?

Good to meet you Oldthennew and God bless the missis too :)

Absolutely! And it makes you want more. I recently read to my Dad on the phone 1Peter1:3-9, and then vs.23, and there was a pause, and all he said was, 'Wow.' I was thrilled, as I knew how genuine and deep his reaction was, but I was also mad at myself, because I had just read it myself, yet my reaction was much 'cooler', even almost 'non'chalant'. It was very convicting to me that I could react that way, yet after much seeking of His forgiveness, I've been coming to realize how even more desperately wicked and hard-hearted I am, and how much more I need my saviour, and how merciful and loving He is in His long-suffering towards me. Thanks for the reminder of just how awesome and alive God's Word is. Reading 1Peter again right now, what awesome heights and depths are packed into 5 little chapters! Our God is an awesome God! Thanks, dcontrovers. (Btw, I just gotta say it. I used to say what you said, and I hear most other ppl say it too, but I'm pretty sure it's the light bulb going ON that we want, not OFF! Just a minor detail. sorry.:))

just as convallaria mentioned I too will say something either to someone else or when I am talking with God only to see it was in scripture and I didn't know it like Jeremiah for instance this has always been something in my heart that I say to him daily but I had no idea it was in scripture lol. If anyone recalls I have said many times God speaks to us all the time we just have to know how to listen and this thread and all the amazing responses is proof of that and that he will often speak through us

So glad to hear that God is speaking to you in wonderful ways through the Word of God!

I have this happen all the time to me. My list of verses like this have literally filled up the back white pages in my Bibles. Some are even more outstanding (if it is possible to even compare). I often post them on here, and I have memorized them and often just go through them at night after prayer.

From my early Christian walk, Romans 8:28 and Phil. 1:6 really stand out.

Then verses like Psalms 42:5, Romans 5:3-5, Romans 12::1-2, 2 Cor. 3:18, and 1 John 3:2 & 1 Cor. 13:12, and just so many other life changing verses that God gave me to bring me out of depression caused by RA.

My suggestion would be to write down these WOW verses either in your Bible or a special place in a journal. Memorize them and meditate on them. God will keep opening up the verses to you in new and amazing ways!

Yes, really awesome, and I hope to hear from many others as I check in on this thread, it gives me hope. Hey, told you you were missed, its good to see you posting here. A while back, I had this come to mind, 'Rejoice, because your names are written in heaven'. I had to verify the location, I call it Luke10:20b, and I thank God for it, as I have had to cling to it a number of times since then, and have tried to encourage others with it as well. I still am reluctant to say 'God spoke to me' or 'God gave me this' as its so hard for me. I find it easier to believe God speaks to others than to me (except to remind me in my conscience what a rotten sinner I am) I'm not trying to say God's mean, its just that I know I'm not easily loved, so I still struggle with receiving goodness at all. I know I need to work on that. 'I believe Lord, help thou mine unbelief'. (maybe that right there is a bit of a wow, ... I say it alot.)
