It seems so apparent on this site that so many are so sure they know everything about every topic from God's point of view.

I agree with what a bible scholar said, "I am 100% sure of everything I've written here, but I am also equally sure I could be wrong in some parts." That sums up how I feel about what I'm sure of.

And then there are the gobs of things I'm not sure of or simply don't know. Since so many are so sure they have different topics on here down pat, then what don't you know? Honestly? Deep down, what are things you truly don't understand about God and would like to some day? And out of those things, which ones were you curious about enough to do a lot of researching but still didn't come up with an answer?

If I answer the OP with what I don't understand, I'll get 20 people with 25 different dogmatic answers.

His form, His face. Like when Moses wanted to see God. God had to shield Moses.

And then everything I know about God is limited. I know God is love. But my mind is unable to know the power and all that it suggests and implies.

God is light and in Him is NO DARKNESS AT ALL. At some point in my learning of what that might mean, I'm going to come to an "I don't know" point.

Why did you ask this question. It drives me nuts. I'm done.

Which gives me 20 people I can ask what they don't know too.

What is the spiritual representation of this story? For real I cannot get it.
Judges 14:8-14
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]So his father went down unto the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to do.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And it came to pass, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:
[SUP]13 [/SUP]But if ye cannot declare it me, then shall ye give me thirty sheets and thirty change of garments. And they said unto him, Put forth thy riddle, that we may hear it.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days expound the riddle.

I'd imagine that there are an infinite number of things that I don't know about God. Personally, I don't need the Lord to bombard me with a slew of questions like He did with Job to show me just how ignorant I truly am of many, many, many things. When I participate in a forum such as this one, I generally stick to the topics which I believe that I do know something about and even if I truly do know anything, then I received it from the Lord either directly or indirectly (through another) so there's no place for boasting anyway. That's about it at my end.

Still guileless here, so how about I give some stuff I seriously don't know about God to prove it.

1. I don't get loving. I mean I get loving, but is it loving to say nothing when you see something bad happening because the person it's happening to is a brother and has asked for no advice? Is it loving to keep quiet when brothers are doing something away from God's will, but it seems like it's common christian practice, and if I speak it, everyone gets defense so the problem is never resolved? Is it loving to nag?

2. I don't get how the story continued. I mean I get God keeps on doing his thing, and everything works out in his will, but things really have changed since the Bible finished. Jesus confronted a woman who was acting loony and out came Legion. Some slave girl followed Paul and Barnabas around enough shouting that they were sent by God so often, that Paul took that demon out of her. Now we know schizophrenia is a real physiological disorder. How do we know when it is that and when it's a demon? Or what happened since Bible times? Like, Jesus didn't meet any women having their periods back then, because they were unclean so off away from the crowds. How do we know that shouldn't still be a thing anymore? Stuff has changed, but how?

3. Why is the Pentateuch so messed up? I mean, I get it was all on different scrolls and maybe one chapter didn't precede the chapter before it or maybe it did, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm in Numbers, and this is the third time I've been learning about Passover and that first place the Israelites stayed in after the Red Sea. Why not chronological order? Why not one book of history, one of law, and one of case studies? It feels a bit like remembering a dream. I'm sure it made sense at the time, but it's really confusing when explaining it afterward. It seems to make less sense. And it's God's word, so it can't be that.

4. Trinity? Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? I mean I believe it, but then who do I talk to? And how do I know I'm talking to the right one? And how can I not be talking to the right one, if there is only one God? And yet, there is that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit thing. Looks like three to me, but one. I believe him when he says he's one, but Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?

5. How do we know an OT candlestick means something in the NT. I mean the OT scapegoat meant something in the NT. The Passover Lamb meant something in the NT. The veil into the Holy of Holies means something in the NT, so how do we know the candlestick doesn't? And, if it does, how do we know the cherub on the tapestries around the tabernacle also didn't mean something in the NT? Or how about those hooks to hold up those tapestries? How about the poles? Sure seems like a lot of foreshadowing in the OT, but was it really or are we getting into the same junk English profs do in college? "The author meant the blue wallpaper as a symbol for...", when honestly, the author just liked blue.

6. Practically, how do I follow God 24/7, when my mind twirls and whirls like it does?

7. And, is that my mind or am I really supposed to blame Satan this time?

How hard have I tried? I gave up on figuring out a clear answer to trinity. I'm not chasing down symbolism. I figure if God wants me to know, he'll bring it to mind again when I get to the NT again. I have no idea how to figure out the rest, other than I keep seeing we're supposed to do everything for God so I keep praying and do it as I remember, if I can figure out how. But look at my first question, I don't know how.

This isn't me looking for answers to these question. This is me checking out if I'm the only imperfect Christian on this site.

This I do know I know nothing and when I think I know something I know even less.
Lynn, this thread is a blessing to me because God made me a simple person. If all of you have noticed I rarely get in evolved in scripture wars because I don't know them big words or terms they use.
When the scriptures compared to a garden I planted a garden, when they referred to the stars I went out at night, I've planted Lilly's to see what Jesus was saying about Solomon...etc
I even watched doves land in my driveway to know how the holy spirit came down upon Jesus as he was baptised. This I do know that Jesus loves me, and I truly love him but I don't know how I could miss someone I never physically ment, but I do.To all in this chat room thank you for teaching me some things I didn't know. I know that I will never know all there is but as it is written
Little is much when God is in it.

But this is more about Samson than God, for it is not God stating the riddle. Sounds to me as though the lion ate the honeycomb and Samson recovered the honeycomb from the lion. The lion is the eater of the honeycomb, and out of the lion came the sweetness of the honeycomb. Many things are considered "Meat", which is not necessarily meat as we think of meat, but of food or sustenance. Honey would fall into that category.

I'll just say that I've always imagined eternity with God as every second being exceedingly abundantly above all I can ask or think.

Just think about this. God is going to use all the ages to come to show us his grace and kindness. We can't even imagine what that will be like. I believe every second with God will be a new wonder and revelation. I also believe that God created all the endless universe for the future of his children.

Ephesians 2:6-7King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
[SUP]7 [/SUP]That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

So to answer your question, There is so much I don't know about God that I don't even know what to ask yet. I'm just glad he gave us his word to get us started.

The more I am blessed to be given understanding (as limited as that may be) of the Creator if the universe the more I realize I don't know, I am a finite being, and right now I see through a class darkly, but when His glory will be revealed, I don't know what I will be but this I know, I will be as He is. 1st John 3:2

I don't know how many other worlds God has created other than our own, or how many intelligent beings He's created on these worlds, and of those inhabited worlds how many trusted God from the beginning and continue to trust Him, and how many fell from grace like we did. I wonder if we'll ever get to meet these people, if they exist.

I don't know what people will do in Heaven. Will we watch TV? Will we have electricity? Will we have jobs? Will we get bored? Will we ever sleep? Will God give us all tremendous singing voices? I hope so because my son tells me my singing voice sucks.

I think of Paul's comment that the man who went to heaven saw things he was not permitted to share... I wonder if he even had words for such things...

The OP reminds me of an illustration I learned in a class somewhen: a square with four quarters. In one quarter is what I know that I know; in the second, what I know that I don't know; in the third, what I don't know that I know; and finally, what I don't know that I don't know. I'm not one to put God in a box if I can avoid it, but I think God is mostly in the fourth box, and it is much bigger than the other three.

what don't i know about God?
how much time do you have?

His love for sinners... i don't get that well enough.
i was reading John this morning, and the account of Lazarus.

Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. (Jn 11:5)

what was it like for our Holy God, clothed in human flesh and frailty, to be around sinners all the time, and love them?
how is it He loves me?

i accept it because He says it's so, but i certainly don't understand how such a marvelous thing can be.
nor how i might live more fully in that reality in order to show that love to others.
