Not all tongues are languages of men. That's in the bible too. Read 1 Cor:14.2 There are different kinds of tongues 1 Cor 12:10 and 12:28
There is also though the fact that the Corinthian church weren't practicing the gift of tongues as they should. They were out of order.

Paul was adamant with the church of Corinth about this!

The paganism affecting the church of Corinth was affecting their walk as a church. So this also needs to be put in the context of this.

I am really hoping Rudimental that you were being tongue in cheek when you wrote the interpretation of what DControversial wrote!

Because I know from DC's posts.. he wasn't even trying to 'type in tongues' :)

You must surely realise it was just randomly hitting keys!

Excuse me from not being in on the joke.
Yeah lol of course!!!! He was typing gobbledegook as if you could type in tongues! LOL

That is absolutely correct. The fact that they were out of order is the subject of the chapter. What I hate is that whenever those who are against tongues use that chapter they use it as a condemnation of tongues in general. I will always here " It is better to speak one word in the understanding than ten thousand in an unknown tongue". I never here those folks quote two other verses that are in that same chapter, " I speak in tongues more than you all", and " I would that you all spake in tongues".

I think the author is wrong to criticize or condemn people who don't speak in tongues. I also think that if those who don't at least pray in the kind of unknown tongue that is only a personal prayer language weren't afraid of it, it would be a great benefit for them.

I love to talk about speaking in tongues. What I don't like is when some people completely dismiss it and even make fun of it, and on the other side you have those who think they are more spiritual because they do speak in tongues. It's a way Satan divides us to rob from us.
