I play guitar. There was this song that had a beautiful lead piece to it. Boy it sounded hard. I figured I'd never get it so I never bothered.

But one day I sat down with my gitter and tried to learn it. After a few hours, I got it. I cried out to my wife 'Adrian...I did it'. I was so happy but do you know something?...it wasn't as hard as I thought. Not as complicated as I believed.

Now read:
Acts 20 verse 28...Take heed unto yourselves and all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers (episkopos, bishops), to feed (shepherd, pastor) the ekklesia of God......

Here again: 1Peter 5:2 Feed (shepherd, pastor) the flock of God which is among you (note, not above), taking the oversight thereof (episkops, bishop).

To whom are these two verses directed? The elders....plural! I keep presenting these scriptures to you in the hopes that one day, one day the light bulb will come on. Like the guitar piece, it's really not that difficult after all.

No single executive pastor with salary can be found in your bible. A plurality of elders working in harmony to care for the newbie sheep. I point to the bible and get hammered for it. A dirty job but someone's got to do it.

Amen to that...not realizing that there was more than ONE church on the planet as in churches and they all had ELDERS...what a way to direct ALL of them at the same time.....

Yet, have you made that doctor's appointment, yet? (No pun intended!)

Very concerned about your mental health, to say nothing of your bitterness, jealousy and envy, and your poor Biblical exegesis!

1 Thess 5

19 Quench not the Spirit.

20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Its sad seeing people get picked apart, i don't think that its funny. People that are wise in their own eyes, actually look ignorant in mine. i see the same people coming together in these forums trying to make people look stupid, but they are only fooling themselves. The people that get bashed the most and drug through the mud are those that usually have something to say, not those on the sidelines throwing tomatoes. i've always went for the underdog, the one that people try keeping down. i never liked bullies in school, and would stand up for the ones being bullied, and not much has changed, but today Jesus has my back like He always did, back then i didn't know it.

words can tear down, or build up. some things are just better being ignored, if we can't share a loving response.

I stand with you in principle, believe me, I do, but the key word in your post is, usually.

Usually does not mean always, and in this case it more accurately describes seldom.

my husband, at one time loathed, hated = preachers, churches, religions, and he did have good reason
at the time, as he was molested by his sunday-school-teacher...
his anger and bitterness ran deep and hard for many years, it infected so much of his behavior, and
he had a tremendous chip on his shoulder which could explode without him even being provoked...

here is what is so sad about his situation, the trauma put him in denial, so he didn't even know why
he was acting-out......

the sins that others lay upon us, only makes us ADD to the sin laid upon us....UNTIL God intervenes
and releases us from our bitter-roots and bondages....

it is a good habit to learn how to read a person's feeling beneath their words, this is not really a hard
thing to do as we are all familiar with pain, humiliation, heart-ache, broken trust, the list can go on and on...
the OVER-COMING is our real challenge.....

our Father will give us the TOOLS to OVER-COME, for this is His Will, that we be not in bondage to the
darkness, or to the emotional trauma of this fallen-world's-snares....

the transition of our 'calling-out' is often so painful that we are only able to take baby-steps, but know this,
we will eventually walk on Holy Ground.

like it is written,
You shall know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free...

Thank you I am feeling the same thing regarding ignoring people. But I am so bitterly disappointed to find so few genuine believers on here who know God is real. Mostly they (the religious pretenders) want to convince us that He isn't real today and that He doesn't give His promises any more or work miraculously or empower people through the Holy Spirit.

Oh they say they believe He is real but they don't believe He does anything that He said He would do.

Personally I feel it is just another way of despising Godly authority, given the way they attack and falsely accuse those sent to them to help them out of the mess they are in.

If we are born again we have the Holy Spirit and He will lead us into all truth. If however we keep resisting what He clearly says to us personally through the quick and powerfiul written word, God has to send them strong Rhema via the prophets to give them a chance to see their error and repent.

If they then stone all the prophets sent to them, I would not fancy their chances frankly if for instance, this night their soul were required of them.

If you really want to get hammered, try pointing to the One the Bible is pointing you to instead.
