A lot of people on here seem to be under the misguided belief that Catholics are not Christians. This to me is silly. The Catholic church is the ORIGINAL Christian church. All these evangelical protestant denominations can be traced back to Martin Luther and his articles of reformation who split with the Catholic Church due to political reasons.

There is another church that traces its history to the Apostle Mark. (The Coptic Church)
http://ancient-middle-eastern-history.suite101.com/article.cfm/the_coptic_church

The Coptic Church HAS a pope but does not believe that he's infalible. That would match up with Scripture that ALL have sinned and need a savior.

The "Church" would give ALL credit to God (the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost). Please note that miracles were done through the Apostles, too, though they did not encourage people to worship THEM but only God.

Last week, in one of the Detroit newspapers (News or Free Press), there was a FRONT PAGE article about how Catholics were buying St Joseph "kits" in order to help them sell their homes in the tough Detroit economy. Statues of St Joseph were to be BURIED in your front yard! If you do that, and believe that St Joseph can help you, your house will be sold!
Woo Hoo! THANK YOU SAINT JOSEPH!
Right?

The Apostle Paul prayed over a cloth while he was in jail. That cloth was sent to the people and they was healed when they touched it. NOBODY put the cloth, itself, in a case and hailed, praised, or worshipped the CLOTH. They was encouraged to praise GOD. Even the angel in Revelation discouraged John to worship him. He said to worship GOD.

Are Catholics "Christians"? They are just as much Christians as Muslims are.

My answer is "no" because they give praise and worship to others besides God.

We are desperate sinners, while we were still sinners God sent His Son to die for us, He was burried and rose again. If we repent and believe in Him we will be saved. Submit to Jesus. If Jesus Christ is your Lord, you are christian. He is King, He is Lord. Seek Him, Love Him, Glorify Him. You will know them by their fruits, those who do not produce fruit He will cut down and throw in the fire. So no matter the label, the key is Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit lead all of us to Your truth, remove our own preconceptions, our own judgements, and let the truth shine, help us to turn from our wickedness, our false beliefs, let the truth pierce through and You be glorified. Let no deciet cover our eyes, let us see the lies of the enemy and the works of man, and help us to cling to the reality of Jesus, the word of God. If we quesiton our salvation, let us seek You O Lord with all of our heart and forsake our sins. Thank You Precious Lord.

Ps. sorry I'm tired and I'm not catholic, but I will love everyone enough to tell them the truth and have compassion on them.

:)

Certainly people here think I'm a Catholic because I am so adamant in my defense of your faith.

As a matter of fact, I am NOT Catholic. A few of my family member are Catholic, but I'm not. I haven't been to a Catholic church since I was a child.I have NO personal bias here! I'm not a man whos smart enough to study history and read the bible. In my studies, I have come to the conclusion that you Catholics are just as Christian (if not more so) than the evangelical PROTESTants!

The origins of the Catholic church can be traced back the Saint Peter. It was he whom Christ commissioned to head the church! Not Paul. Not Mark. And certainly NOT Martin Luther!

Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Matt 16:17-19!

That's part of the "us v. them" attitude prevalent in Protestantism. Either you defend Protestantism, whether it be right or wrong, and rail against what Protestantism rails against, you're one of "them", the outsiders, the "bad Christians".

Personally, I'm no Christian but I have far more respect for Catholicism than Protestantism. Not that I LIKE Catholicism, but I respect them :p I will always defend people when they are being misrepresented, because ignorance and lies help nobody. Plus, it's just flat out not fair.

When Jesus was on the cross, one theif said to Him, "Remember me when you enter your Kingdom."
Jesus did NOT say, "Are you Catholic? Baptist? Pentecostal? Did you get baptized? Do you accept My mother? Do you want to recite the 'sinners prayer'?
Nope.
Just the theif's belief that Jesus is who He said He was. He knew he was a sinner and needed a Savior and Jesus was his Savior!

Any religion that goes outside that, I question.

Then why question Catholicism? I know a LOT of Catholics (80% of the hispanics in my town are Catholic, and I live in a 95% hispanic area of town :p) and not a single one of them would tell you that you are wrong.

I bet you have a special "saint" and wear his or her medallion. Do you ask Saint Anthony to help you find something that is lost? Ask any other "saint" for anything?

Jesus said time and time again to ask GOD.

"Whatever"?? Yea.
