You are welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay :) John 12:27 comes to me:

"Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me
from this hour'? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour."

This one I need to keep before my eyes:

"At whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.".
Romans 1:1

This reminds me that even though I might not act out that particular sinful nature as the other person does, it is still there in me and probably shows itself in other ways. So, I just don't judge.

Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.

At one point in my life this one verse haunted me continually, but once i started walking the narrow and difficult path that leads to life everlasting which only a very few will find, then it became my favorite verse.

1Jn 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Only if this generation would believe that verse.

I can't narrow it down to just one or two verses, but I LOVE 2 Corinthians 4, the whole chapter :)

4 Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. [SUP]4 [/SUP]The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. [SUP]5 [/SUP]For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. [SUP]6 [/SUP]For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[SUP][a][/SUP] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. [SUP]8 [/SUP]We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; [SUP]9 [/SUP]persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. [SUP]10 [/SUP]We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. [SUP]11 [/SUP]For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. [SUP]12 [/SUP]So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.”[SUP][b][/SUP] Since we have that same spirit of[SUP][c][/SUP] faith, we also believe and therefore speak, [SUP]14 [/SUP]because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. [SUP]15 [/SUP]All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. [SUP]18 [/SUP]So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for doctrine , for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

THE SAME GUY WHO WROTE THAT ALSO SAID..IF WE SAY THAT WE HAVE NO SIN WE ARE DECIEVED AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN US.
Brother, you can't pick and choose which verses you will believe in, and which verses you will discard, make void, or interpret away. Even though i no longer continue to live in sin, even as if Jesus told me to "Go and sin no more" does not mean i think or believe that i Have no sin, for i HAVE sinned plenty as i have said to you in previous posts, but is not registering. i Have never said "i have no sin" nor do i believe that, nor do i teach that. This has nothing to do with my walk with Jesus now, that i am a new man in Christ, and have put off the deeds of the old man before Christ.

..SORRY PAL...ONCE FOR ALL ETERNAL SALVATION IS FOUND IN BELIEVING IN JESUS AND CONFESSING THAT BELIEF....WORKING FOR AND OR WALKING FOR SALVATION IS FOREIGN TO THE SCRIPTURES.
Again evidence that you pick and choose which verses you will believe in, and which verses you will make void, discard, or interpret them away. You full heartedly believe the verse that teaches if a person believes in Jesus they are Saved, but altogether ignore all the verses that teach those who believe in Jesus OBEY Him, Does what He says. So we see that you believe one verse, but ignore altogether verses such as this:

Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

You see, you can't possibly believe that Inspired by God verse and also believe that believing is enough for one to be Saved. You have to altogether ignore the verses that plainly teach Eternal Salvation is unto them that OBEY JESUS CHRIST. And to OBEY him, is to LOVE ONE ANOTHER. And in loving one another, you will have many good works.
You continue to believe that believing is enough, nothing else needed, and see where you end up in the end. For the Truth is what ALL of Scriptures teach, not just the verses you pick and choose to believe.

1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should 1) believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, AND 2) love one another, as he gave us commandment.

Do you believe that only the first part is required for one to be Saved? Yes you do, don't you. So what about the second part of that same verse, do you believe that as well, or somehow you are excluded from the second part of that verse, that believing is enough, and you don't have to OBEY the second part. Again, you pick and choose which verses you will believe in and ignore, make void, or interpret away other verses that you do not agree with.

It is only when you agree with EVERY verse in Scriptures, that you will come to grasp with the TRUTH. But if what you believe contradicts even one verse in Scriptures, then what you believe is WRONG. Change your belief to match with ALL OF SCRIPTURES, Do not hold on to a belief that matches a verse but contradicts other verses. God is not divided. All Scriptures is given for instruction in righteousness, therefore if you do not believe ALL verses in Scriptures, then you do not believe the TRUTH of Scriptures. Is it not written a little bit of leaven leaveneth the whole lump, likewise those who do not believe in one verse of Scriptures, does not believe the Scriptures. You either believe the Scriptures 100%, every chapter, every verse, or you don't. Those who pick and choose which verses to believe in are partial within themselves.

Again, if what you believe contradicts even one verse in Scriptures then what you believe is in error. This includes myself as well, it is to ALL. Tell me dcontroversal Do you believe the inspired by God Scripture in my signature, that Eternal Salvation is unto them that OBEY Jesus, or do you believe something else?

..It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe....You should trust Jesus instead of yourself dave!
Who has told you that i trust myself? Who has been talking in your head? Have i said anything, anywhere at all that even remotely indicates that i trust myself? No, so where is this false knowledge coming from? Who is speaking these things to you? i have over and over and over again, in many posts, teach plainly that i can not do it by myself, that without Jesus living in me, giving me His Power and His Strength to overcome temptation, i could not do it, could not walk in the light as i do now. If then you now accuse me of trusting in myself, then show any statement where this is evident? You can't, know how i know that, because i have never trusted myself, i trust in Him who lives in me to be there fore me, whenever i am tempted to sin, and guess what, He is there for me, praise Jesus for His Strength and Power.

You have adamantly disagreed with me on many things on many different threads, and i have yet to see from you, one Scripture which is contrary to what i teach. Yet i have shown you MANY Scriptures that are contrary to what you believe. i love you brother, i really do, But you need to pray for the Holy Ghost to open your eyes to the Truth of God, instead of believing you already know it, because what you know, contradicts Scriptures.

Again, love you brother, and i will pray to God that He imparts on you a teachable spirit, that you may start believing All of the Scriptures and not just the verses that fit into your belief. All Scriptures are inspired by God, All Scriptures are TRUE, even the one below in my signature, is TRUE, regardless if we believe it or not.

You teach Eternal Salvation is unto them that believe. This is True, yet Scriptures teach more than this.

Scriptures teach Eternal Salvation is unto them that believe AND OBEY Jesus.

Joh_14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Joh_14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Those who love Him, WILL DO what He instructs, and He Commands Christians to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Joh_13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

So keep on believing the false doctrine that believing in Jesus is enough for Eternal Salvation, when Scriptures plainly teaches you have to DO MORE, than just believe. i have told you the Truth, therefore on Judgement Day, you can't say "i thought believing was enough for Salvation" because i have told you, and not i only, but the Word of God plainly teaches that Faith (believing) ONLY, is NOT enough for Salvation.

Sorry everyone, i just seen this is a favorite verse thread, Admin, please move this to where it should go. Thanks and God Bless.

PAUL covers this line of thought as well...are you so foolish..having begunnin the spirit are you now made complete by the flesh.....faith into Christ is what saves period...by adding your works of obeyance you teach a gospel of a different kind that has bo power ro save bro....believe and confess with the mouth equals eternal salvation period and God uses chastisment upon disobedient SONS WHO DO NOT OBEY AND SERVE....WAKE UP Dave..no one who teaches faith for salvation also teaches a life of disobedience...but obeyung does not add to nor facillitate the eternal life and salvation which comes by faith and faith alone!.......

Well this one always gets most of our attention
Revelation: 1. 3. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. 4. John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
