Then he told them, "But now whoever has a wallet must take it along, and his traveling bag, too. And the one who has no sword must sell his coat and buy one.
(Luk 22:36)

An example of comparing Scripture with Scripture and not trying to slap any passage on to fit every situation.

True, in fact in the verse I posted, Jesus commanded Peter to 'put up again into its place', not to 'throw it away'.

Jesus rebuked Peter since his action will be futile against many armed with swords and clubs and is against Jesus submissive attitude to the fulfillment of Scripture.
